Also, 6 episodes a disc is REALLY pushing DVD. Blu-Ray could handle it no prob though.

I don't see the logic by the company. The higher they price it, the more likely people are to download it illegally and just watch it on their computers with 40 inch monitors. I don't want them to be like Funimation and pump out a bunch box sets that fall apart, but they haven't done much to make the set really worth the large number of greenbacks I'd have to fork over to get the thing. The cost for the Tenchi OVA blu-ray set is the equivalent to what I paid to get two 12-inch sub-woofers, an amplifier, and installation of the aforementioned products in my car. I'd have to be off my rocker to even consider it. If they brought it down to $120 I would think seriously about it. Also, I am not advocating illegal downloading, support the original product everyone, just added that as an example.

Blu-ray discs hold 36 gigs of memory, but what alot of people forget is the fact that its blu-ray, 1080p is currently the highest disc format IE 1920x1080 Bluray, in order to make it true blu-ray, and hour and a half of footage is roughly between 8 and 14 gigs, audio tracks range anywhere from 250 to 300 MB per audio file, sub files astonishingly are like 50MB, so when it all adds up, 3 hours of video or 180 minutes is between 20 and 28 gigs, and with all the extras, thats one blu-ray disc, in theory, the Tenchi OVA Bluray set could fit on 3 discs (Just like the Ultimate Edition), but like Bkev said, money most often beats frugality, lol

Well that may be true too, lol as they still have limited edition first run pressings of both the OVA and Movie boxes, aka its even too much for even the most hardcore of Japanese Otaku, lol
