What sort of things in the English language do you have problems with... Spelling? Grammar? Or perhaps stuff like: *Homonyms (one of two or more words spelled and pronounced alike but different in meaning (as "pool" of water and "pool" the game)? *Homophones (one of two or more words (as to, too, two) pronounced alike but different in meaning or derivation or spelling)? *Homographs (one of two or more words spelled alike but different in origin, meaning, or pronunciation(as the "bow" of a ship, a "bow" and arrow)? *definitions for homophones, homographs, and homonyms taken from the Merriam-Webster dictionary* I think there may have been a topic made regarding this awhile back, but I thought I'd introduce it again. I hate how "its" is meant to show possession over an object and "it's" is meant to show "it is." Yes I have a problem with spelling. However, THE TITLE WAS INTENTIONAL YOU DOLT! :P ZL Look how I spelled English in my first post. Do you really think I'd miss that??? Nope, you're not hallucinating ;o I used to post a lot on other boards, so I have a large number outside of here :P Personally, I always get whom mixed up.. I remember, then I forget, then I remember again, so I just tend not to use it. Also, something that gets me a lot, especially when I'm in the middle of writing a story, or something of that nature, is tenses--I tend to use whatever sounds best regardless of the tense it's in. I just use easy words to spell instead of hards one I never heard of. Yeah, I figured I needed a break. Finals and everything, needed to ditch everything for a while. Of course, now that that's taken care of, you can look forward to putting up with me for a good, LONNNNG time. ^_^ And that was a compliment towards your further grasp of the English language, combined with a bit of comradery in the form of elbowing. I have trouble with the expression "should of/should have". "Should of" just doesn't sound right to me. The word too and to and quite problematic as well... Do you say "to much" or "too much"?
