It was okay, but then again most new stuff that comes out doesn't leave much of an impression on me. Well, I like the above listed acts, though granted, Weezer, Trail of Dead, Mudhoney and JSBX have lost their way a little of late.<br><br>Can't fault the YYYs though! "The White Stripes"..... I can't even bring myself to say that this group plays....music. They're horrible and sound like crap ~_~;;;<br><br>My rock taste as of now is usually a mix of rock, metal and alternative. Like right now I'm listening to Audioslave. Of course it helps one of my favorite bands is Sound Garden. System of a Down, as someone mentioned in another thread is considered Nu Metal. ^_^ And I really don't think it comes anything close at all to punk. (I miss the old Offspring and Green Day stuff, that was punk) The 'punk' that is popular in America right now for some odd bizzare reason are dumb bands like Dashboard Confessional, which uses the most cliche lines I have ever heard. Thier writing and singing skills are very minimal. I like my rock to be raw, minimalist and un-polished. 'real'.<br>Do yourself a favour, Nav, and never ever listen to The Moldy Peaches or The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's first album. ^.~<br><br><br>Incidentally, has anyone heard The White Stripes' new single, "Seven Nation Army"? I managed to get hold of an uber-mega-ultra-rare 7" copy of it. Thanks for the heads up there Jiggly I'll be sure to stay away from those groups. ^_^ <br><br>My main reason for disliking the white stripes... the vocals... er screaming.. er funny noises. Seeing as how I'm vocally trained in everything from rock/blues to opera, I just can't appreciate them the way other people can I guess. O.o;;<br><br>And I'm not talking about new offspring Americana, I'm talking gotta keep 'em separated, and Green Day's Dookie album, which I don't think sound pop at all. Konami has a spin-off musical punk group that does some of their songs for Guitar Freaks and Beatmania called "Sex machineguns"...there's some other witty names in there, too.
