Seeing as there are a few of you people in that sorta neck of the woods, I thought I'd let you know that The Raveonettes (a band who're going to make it big with their Buddy Holly meets the Jesus and Mary Chain vibe later this year) are doing a free gig and autograph session in Waterloo Records this Thursday at 3PM.

Just thought I'd pass along the message they've been bombarding their mailing list with. After all, they are lovely, lovely people.
---------------------

"Holy Quest, Tacos, it's all good."
Edited by: El Uno Jigglioso at: 3/11/03 2:35:29 am
|

Well, maybe AC can check it out. He'll be in state to visit his chicks parents, in San Antonio. I'm about 10-12 hours away from there. Silly AC-chan thought I was close to San Antonio. I told him it's over 500 miles from here. He freaked. No one out side of Texas seems to realize the massiveness of Texas. It takes about 24 hours to drive from the east end of Texas to the west end of Texas at the speed limit which is 70 MPH in most parts.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

|

Um, yeah, they gave me beer and badges, and were quite willing to sit and talk with me for a good while, so that makes them lovely people in my book anyway.

Hmm, *looks at globe* Texas is a little bit big... You could fit a fair number of Scotlands in there... Now there's a thought...
---------------------

"Holy Quest, Tacos, it's all good."
|

Who drives the speed limit in Texas? I know we didn't ;o We were going about 90 the whole time, apart from traffic. :)

Run, rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to start another one

|

EUJ, yes Texas is large. It's a joke that says you could fit all of the original 13 colonies in Texas, if the Texas would let you.
I got busted for doing 86 in a 70 about half way to San Antonio. It just depends on luck. From now on, when ever I drive anywhere and I intend to speed, I turn on my CB radio and ask the truckers where the speed traps are at. I have not gotten a speeding ticket with the radio on since. Radar detectors don't give you enough time to slow down.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

|

A comedian did a routine on that.

Trooper: Howdy! We love to have folks drive thru Texas, and keep right on goin'; if they're Yankees! I'm gonna give you a warnin'. Now, don't you tell that other po-leece that you didn't get this warnin'!

(Farther down the road...)

Another Trooper: Howdy! hmmm..well I listened to some of the songs.
