Ah, I just don't like cigarette smoke because its a health hazard that is oftentimes rudely and forcibly placed upon me by others-if you want to kill yourself, certainly I'd discourage it, but killing ME with second-hand smoke as well? This may be way OT, but an Athlon XP 2800+(2.25 Ghz) get's a higher frame rate in UT2003 than a 3.06Ghz HT P4, now I wouldn't call that cheap crap, besides, FIC is OK, PCChips, and that other cheap motherboard I had were just plain crap. But ASUS makes the best MOBOs (note: MSI's new board is .5FPS faster in everything than the A7N8X because it uses an external clock generator unlike the rest of the boards which use the nForce2 built in clock generator, which their external clock generator runs the CPU and FSB slightly higeher than the rest of the boards.) Not to mention the fact that most AMD chips are around 1.5 to 2 times less expensive than their intel equivilences. The only thing the P4 beats it out on hugely is video editing and 3D authoring(3DMax, Maya, etc...) because of the RAMBUS memory bandwith(on rambus boards that is...) and as DDR speeds keep increasing the P4 may not have that for too much longer. Not t mention intel trys to trick you into thinking that the P4 bus speed is way faster than AMD's by saying it's 400 and 533, while in reality it's only 100 and 133, where as AMD chips are 133 and 166. Sure, most gamers and performance experts know it, but most average consumer's don't. <p></p><i></i> |
