Hey, I got the new Linkin Park cd, Meteora, on friday even tho its not out until tomorrow. Lucky me =D Its awsome, well, at least i really enjoy it. If you liked the first one, this one is just as good. GR is much correct; Linkin Park are pansy nu-metal-rock-poo about kids who had parents that were divorced, which is the reason for all their angst!! (sounds like Kurt Cobain, oh my!) Well, I'll have to agree with the English here - besides, England is the home of some of the best rock n' roll in the world. As I very much hope to witness tonight when I go to see plucky Prestonites <a href="http://www.wanderingstep.co.uk">The Wandering Step</a> at King Tut's Wah-Wah Hut tonight (they're seemingly playing there pretty much because I nagged them about it enough - they're not even touring anywhere near here at the moment). But, back on topic, Linkin Park are sucky whiny boyband carp - my opinion and I'll most likely stick to it. Granted, they're in a different league from Westlife and Busted (*CRINGES!**), but manufactured pop nonetheless. Nu-metal as a whole tends to be utter pish. I'm going to buy the new Limp Bizkit album though - but only because of the persistant rumours of a "guest-rap" from Rivers Cuomo of Weezer fame... and Rivers rapping would be worth paying money for... Alrighty, and Hell is for Heroes have one or two decent tracks, but they seemingly haven't decided if they want to be emo-core, nu-metal, or punk rock yet... even after releasing their album... I'll leave them alone.... Ah, the meandering mind... The Scaramanga Six - they're... uh... I don't think the word "good" describs it... um... "Zany". That'll do. I got their album for free, told it was the most stupid piece of crap the music editor of the Uni paper had ever heard... Strangely I'm gettign into it... If this means anythign to anyone, Bill Bailey plays guitar for them... If anybody thinks their sanity can stand the test, I'll send you a track if you e-mail me... To go off on a tangent, one of the guys from Busted looks like Wakka of Final Fantasy X fame*!! (Plus "Year 3000" is the worst 'musical' vomit that I've ever heard--@#%$, I was in England for no longer than THREE DAYS and I'd heard them on the radio/on TV far too often, even as far as seeing them visit some school where a bunch of shallow girls screamed at them). * Check <a href="http://www.busted.com/">www.busted.com/</a> !! Shouldn't this be attempt number three? Linkin' Park does suck, but, there is one thing that annoys the crap out of me, when people use the term Nu-Metal, stuck up know it all people use it all the time when they don't like some kind of music... mind you, linkin' park still sucks. BTW, if you think System of a Down is nu-metal then you will die in your sleep...

What do you mean "stuck-up people"? People into metal? People into rock? When I became acquainted with the word, it was "new metal" to me, rather than "nu metal." "Nu metal," to me, means angsty and down-tuned rock that takes use of a range of vocal styles, which usually range from crap shouting to pisspoor rapping. I don't see anyone who doesn't like Slayer call them "nu metal," even with their new @#%$. People use the term "nu metal" as that's what the genre's called; I consider it more of an offense to say that bands such as Linkin Park, Slipknot, and Papa Roach are metal, when they really are just part of a horrid hard rock genre. I pretty much agree with Deebeedee there, "nu-metal" is a music scene, which Linkin Park are a part of. System of a Down were around before it, and didn't really enter into it (though they probably did benefit from it somewhat). I don't really know whether or not they're over-rated (they weren't terribly impressive live), but I do like their self-titled album. As for Busted... I saw a "live" performance of theirs on TV once... brought a new meaning to the word pathetic... three 'proper' boyband rejects jumping around, lip-synching and pretending to play guitars... ---------------------  <img src="http://www.dimensionalstars.com/jiggs.jpg" style="border:0;"/> "Holy Quest, Tacos, it's all good."
