If I'm to use winxp (rare! since I use Linux mostly--Phoenix, which is also in Windows, has a built-in popup blocker), I'll use Panicware, like mjh. I used AdSubtract on my old laptop...it had a thing called Cookie Cannon that was optional, in case you wanted to get rid of cookies as well.
