Post subject: Taxing health?

What if the gummit started taxing medically obese people? What would Chainey, Ted Kenedy, and the other fat cats on capital hill do? Are there more skinny people than fat people on capital hill? Enough to make it a law? Imagine the future if it was. Post your thoughts. Let your imagination run wild.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

If they start taxing health, I would think they would start taxing the church at well. (I think the church should be taxed) But this 'health tax' could get people to get into shape, and lay off the smokes/beer a bit.

Araq: It's like scrable without the letters.

It all depends on a universal standard of what's healthy and what's not. You know the resistance to another tax, let alone a health tax, would be enormous.
Thus Saith Kernby
(Formerly Known as Ybnrek)
Proud Member Of The OGP: Rosa Uber Alles!
Anime Community: Legal In 49 States (Status Pending In Texas)
Bewahret einander vor der Zweisamkeit

Well, Im quite skinny, and I do believe in the value of a healthy lifestyle and exercise, but this sort of thing goes a bit against my political philosophy. Use other ways to encourage healthy lifestyles, but dont penalize people for taking a certain lifestyle that does not directly harm anyone else.

"I'm the greatest, and I can't possibly be beat!- Cassius Clay aka Muhammed Ali

"I am become death, the destroyer of worlds"- Robert Oppenheimer

Princess Tanmi and Cerebrate Araq are the only ones that can follow directions. I'm not telling the rest of you to debate whether or not this would be allowed. I'm telling you to imagine such a future. What do you think it would be like. Say it was in a world like Iraq was during Sadams, iron fisted rule. MJH, I guess he's saying there would be weigh stations and every body would have to be weighed going down the road or walking around.

That might work. I mean trucks that are over grossed are fined and they either have to call for another truck or buy a permit. In some places they just design trucks with more axles. Would large people be able to get away with excess poundage via blubber axles?

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

Post subject: Re: Taxing health?

Let's assume that it would start out ruled by a hieght by weight chart. Those things usually go by frame size and there are three. The frame size is determined by the bone size at the wrist. Body builders and power lifters would be pissed off by that. Reason being is that a body builder can be at 12% body fat via submersion testing and still be over weight on that chart. When Schwazenegger was at his most massive in 1980, he weighed 245 lbs. But is only like 5' 10" or 5' 11". I think these two groups would want it to be ruled via body fat percentage, and if possible, via submersion testing.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."
