My mom preordered a copy from amazon and it's coming today!! Ofcourse my whole family, except Dad who will read it at the beach in August, are fighting over who will read it first. Ussally every time my Mom puts the book down I pick it up. Oh and Supposedly someone important is to die. Harry Potter is crap. It's about as well written as Nancy Drew. JK Rawlings is a money-grubbing, fake backround story telling hack. I hate Harry freakin' Potter so much that I'm giving away the ending to the new book right here- ok, no I'm not. Not even I'm that mean. <p></p><i></i>

I enjoy Harry Potter a lot. The series is well written, pretty well researched (esp. with regard to mythology/fantasy and even latin terminology), and has a very appealing and engrossing plot. I haven't been disappointed by the first four books, and I don't believe I'll be disappointed with the new one. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)"> <br><br>ZL<br><br>J.K. Rowling was a divorced, unemployed single mother who was on wellfare writing the plot of Harry Potter in not only notebooks, but even scribbling on napkins in coffee shops when she was out of paper. To go from nothing to $300,000,000 is truly incredible and nothing to be ashamed of at all. Who can blame her if she allowed the story to be marketed so widely? She went from obscurity and poverty to wealth and security, and made millions of readers happy in the process. *shrugs* I guess it just depends on what you like. in Time magazine, there was an article about a girl who was dying from cancer and was a Harry Potter fan, and J.K. Rawling called her up and told her the storyline of the order of the pheonix before she even finished the final copy. How the hell do you "research" mythology? By playing a lot of D&D? All I'm saying is that Harry Potter is just the modern day version of say: Frank L. Baum's Oz books, maybe. They're nothing for people to get so worked up about. It's amazing to me that adults read this instead of some of the really good books that are out there.<br><br>I still stand by the fact that JK Rawlings intentionally let her hard luck story get blown up by the media. It was a good way to stir up press when the HP phenom. was starting up. She's about as big a literary talent as the guy who does Goosebumps. <p></p><i></i>
