Run, don't walk to your local googleplex to see this film right now! It's not a "zombie" movie at all. The characters are complex (in a good way), the cinematography is beautiful, the story has so many layers. Absolutely brilliant. Danny Boyle is sending an important message with this film. The whole world is "infected with rage". Saw this at a British Premier... You see, a local Cinema had a Sci-Fi Film Marathon, and this was the special feature that was shown at the beginning. You had to see it. The main attraction for me though was End of Evangelion, which was being played off a DVD. Nice to see it on a big screen, though before hand a guy from the Sci Fi channel explained the truth behind such scenes as Kaoru death, so such scenes were puncuated with laughter....<br><br>Anyway, I thought the film was quite good, if a bit weird at times.... I think My favourite part had to be some writing on the wall early on in the film. And because the guy is going upstairs, we read the message backwards... Really quite amusing... <p> I have Returned from the Darkness and I am now RED Kagato TEG! It sucked. It really slowed down towards the end. If you want a zombie movie, watch a George A. Romero film, one of the greatest writers/directors of all time. All time. <p></p><i></i>

I agree that George A. Romero's Living Dead films set the standard. However, 28 Days Later brings the concept into the new century. It owes a lot to Romero's film, but does them justice I think. As for Resident Evil- I just really hope you're kidding. <p></p><i></i>

Resident Evil was never meant to be made into a movie to start with.
