Post subject: TNN's new animated lineup
PostPosted: Fri Jul 25, 2003 10:27 pm
It looks like TNN is trying for a chunk of the not-for-kiddies animated market. Check out http://www.thenewtnn.com for their (mostly Thursday night) shows: "Ren & Stimpy Adult Party", "Gary the Rat" (the rat is a lawyer), and "Stripperella" starring Pam Anderson as an exotic dancer by night and a superhero by even later night.

Ren also shows up on Monday, and Gary at midnight Friday.

I have not seen any of these yet. I have no comments - other than maniacal laughter!

Edited by: PieEyedDragon at: 7/25/03 9:31 pm

The new Ren & Stimpy's suck. They are nothing but unfunny gross out humour. I like a good gay/fart/poop/vomit/etc. joke, but a whole show based on this is too much.

None of it is any good. If TNN thinks this crap is what men like, they better get their heads out of their asses.

They're trying to capitalize on the market value of magazines like playboy, maxim, CQ, etc. The thing that keeps those magazines going is original humor and cheesecake photos; TNN dun have that.
-Loknar-

My Rarely Updated Fanfic Site

The Buncha Network/Orion Chronicles Community Board

Loknar's Fanfics

"Some men see things as they are and say, 'Why?' Oh well, at least they have classic Ren&Stimpy. I kinda like Gary the rat. He's such a mama's-boy, like me.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

None of those shows are worth the time of day. Stripperella, Gary the rat, and Ren and Stimpy are a perfect toe-hold for those who feel that TV has become nothing but mindless drivel...not that I'm like that.

That's why it's on at night. If it was worth the time of day, it'd be censored and it'd be on Fox Kids. I dunno, I kinda like the shows. They're mildly entertaining. Nothing incredibly awesome, but nothing incredibly horrible. Mediocre.

You can find schedules for those at
www.thenewtnn.com
(Stripperella:Thursday night, approx Adult Swim timeframe)

Just saw "The Venture Brothers" on CN Adult Swim.
I must be slow: It took me fifteen seconds to realize it was a twisted parody of Jonny Quest. I'm pretty sure that was edditing for broad cast. What if they drew in nipple tassles? Could they show that?

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

What was your opinion of "Stripperella": Funny, boring, idiotic, campy, etc (and please don't say 'titilating')?
