We had a localized thunderstorm Saturday evening. Power was out for 90 minutes. No doubt a line was down; the wind got pretty stiff.

Small local power outages are commonplace where I live, especially in the summer. One time a squirl chewed a power cable outside a mechanics shop and it took out a couple blocks (including the one I live on)--the squirl was also fried!

Despite the heat, I would expect a baby boom in mid-May 2004. That happened during the last big blackout.
