Basically, if you haven't heard, the whole idea of Marriage Protection Week is to support only A male and female grouping. This does not support male/male couplings, with or without children female/female couplings, widows with children, Single parents. Also it starts the day after National Coming Out Day.

Anyway, if you are interested in relating articles, I have gathered a few. Post subject: Marriage Protection Week vs Singles Week

This was just a quick something I wrote in my LJ, enjoy.

Upon recently hearing about ‘Marriage Protection Week’ that is happening on October 12 through October 18, 2003, I was dismayed. Saddened really. I’m single, and I thought that Valentines Day was quite enough to celebrate Married and Non-single people. Stop leaving us poor single people out of everything!

Well, single people out there, whether you are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, nonsexual or asexual, black, white, orange, blue, Christian, nonchristian etc… as long as you are single, I suggest you observe October 12 to October 18 as Single’s Week instead! (Besides, Single’s Week is catchier sounding than boring old, ‘Marriage Protection Week’. And if Single’s Week doesn’t sound very appealing to you, we could always use a ‘Talk Like A Pirate Week’ By the end of the week you’ll be so good at talking like a pirate, people might actually think you are one! … or something.) Now mind you, this doesn’t mean that Married people or couples aren’t allowed to celebrate Single’s Week with all us single people. You are quite welcome. Call up your closest single friends who feel left out because you spend more time with your significant other rather than them, and take them out for drinks sometime during the week.

If you have a significant other and really would like to celebrate your single friends I suggest the following do’s and don’ts. Do hang out with your single friends as much as possible during this week. Don’t blow them off to be with your significant other. Do lend a shoulder to cry on if your single friends don’t want to be single. Don’t make out/hold hands/whisper sweet nothings with or to your significant other - that makes singles who don’t want to be single very very sad. Don’t take your single friends out to watch romantic flicks. Do let your friends know that even though the American culture makes it look like a sin to be single, it is OK for them to be single.

Single people, do what you want. I suggest going out with your other single friends for a couple Single’s Nights on the town. Go out and party with other single people and just have fun, because, since you’re single and you can. Remember, since you are single, you don’t have to worry about a significant other being upset over you dancing with some hot guy or girl… or guy and girl, or lots of guys, or lots of girls… uh you get the idea.

There are lots of great things about being single, so this October 12th through October 18th get out there and celebrate them!

BTW Happy Singles Week everyone! ^_~

The practice of marriage was always a business contract...
When they turned it into a religious ceremony, virtually anything become permissible--if you're in the right religion.
Strictly speaking, there is generally nothing to profit from in a "homosexual marriage", and even less insurance that will prevent "divorce".
The real reason that 50% of all marriages in the United States fail is not from some "rip in the moral fabric of society" or any such duck-speak (secular or clerical--take your pick), but rather because very few people have anything to gain from it apart from a temporary relief of conscience. In the end, whether anyone knows it or not, it is the simple fact they we all forced to live in Socialist/Mercentile environment where the act of living is an exercise in futility.

Well, homosexual people have a lot to gain from marriage. You should check out GR's article she wrote on this subject, it was very good.

It's not that *goodness*. ^^;; For those wondering, I actually wrote it for my school newspaper because I want others to be more aware of the bullshit that's going on. Sweetfreek, if you don't believe homosexuals have anything to gain from marriage, then you should definitely check out Million for Marriage. They have a bunch of rights that homosexuals are currently denied because they're not allowed to marry. And if you want to get a laugh, go to the National Marriage Protection Week site. They have the most ignorant articles on there. XD XD Go to this one if you especially want to die laughing. It makes me angry that some people will actually believe this stupidity, but the article is just so ridiculous, I can't help laughing. ^^;;

<border=3>
<cellpadding=5 cellspacing=3>

akaku nijimu taiyou wa subete o
terashite kita ima mo mukashi mo
kono yuuyami ni egaiteru souzou wa
hatashite kono te ni oenai mono na no ka?

motto ima ijou ni hadaka ni natte
ikite yuku jutsu oshiete yo
honno sukoshi dake watashi o yogoshite
sou yatte hitori kizutsuitari
mawari o nakushita to shite mo
shinjitsu no uta wa kono mune ni nagare

<img src="http://www.dimensionalstars.com/sesssamasig.jpg" border="0" alt="arasoi wa mada tsuzukun darou
dono michi ima ga taisetsu na no sa
gamushara ni natte miotoshite kita mono
tatoeba dare ka no yasashii hohoemi mo"
