I'm a San Francisco Giants fan, so I know how it feels to come close and lose (see last years World Series...or even this years NLDS), but for Boston and even more so for Chicago, when you think about it, this was just tragic. I really feel for their fans. Boston hasn't won a World Series since 1918, and Chicago, not since 1908, and they haven't even been in one since 1945!!!<br><br>I mean...the Florida Marlins have been around for all of 11 years and they already are going to their second World Series, when the Cubs have been in what, 3 in one hundred years (or was it four)??? The Diamondbacks win a world series in their short history too? It's upsetting. Of course, there are "suppossed" curses on both Boston and Chicago, but that's only if you truly buy into this stuff. Still, the baseball gods seemingly had the most incredible World Series lined up: Red Sox vs. Cubs. Now, I'm not even sure I'm going to watch. And the Yankees...don't get me started on them. They've won twenty-six world series titles!!! That's more than 1/4 of them since they even began playing World Series games...plus, that doesn't count how many series they've actually played in. I just want to point out that Tim Wakefield is an amazing human being. I'm not even that angry about the horrible loss so much as I am driven to complete sadness about how Wakefield took the loss.<br><br>"I let the team down," he reported to the Press, saying it over and over in tears.<br><br>He won more games in the Postseason than either our two best pitchers, Pedro and Lowe, did. We wouldn't have GOTTEN to Game 7 without him. If anyone else had picked up the slack like he did they would have clinched in Game 6 or sooner. The man does so many amazing things for Boston in foundations, charities, and was one of the best bonding players in the Red Sox clubhouse. He did so much for us. He's done so much for everyone.<br><br>I don't blame him for having to pitch out of the bullpen that was more than capable to get 5 more outs when they were needed. I don't blame him for having to pitch without even proper rest. I don't blame him for Grady Little's ineptitude in handling his pitchers. He should have never been put into that situation.<br><br>Tim Wakefield is a truly get person, and it hurts me so much to think he blames himself for what happened. More so now than the horrible loss. <p></p><i></i>

But seriously, does anyone give a crap about the Florida Marlins vs. the New York Yankees? It's going to be the worst World Series ever. I know I'm not going to bother watching it. <br><br>And Kerry Wood is the man. <p></p><i></i>
