Wether you agree with it or not, a base on the moon and missions to mars are a lot closer then you think.

2 Words
Nano Tech

In 2 years, the tech college I am going to will begin giving classes in NanoTech, and NanoTech is the very thing NASA is pitching a lot of money into. A lot of things they currently can't do right now, that they want to do is going to be made possible through these little robots that you can't see w/o an electron microscope.

Kinda makesd me wonder how they can make things that small, but oh well, they did it some how! And Sony is trying to make a multicell super processer for a home entertainment system that would make all of our computers look like tree slugs racing against Coca-cola 500 cars! Heck in 5 years, who knows, they may actully be making Persocoms! ^.^

Well, I have to admit the Sony deal comes from hearsay though, but it does come from a guy that completely Aced the TeleNetworking, C++ programming, and Hardware Repair classes.

Eer, ok, maybe a few to many big words that time.
*sizzle sizzle sizzle*
My head hurts. *o.o;;
*covers head in pain*

*thinks out loud* Damn you Scott Stokely, I wish I had a photographic memory like you! >8-O

*waves fist in air*

Oh well, might as well stick to the Robotics and electical systems.

O.O;;

.oO( @#%$, they arn't going to understand much about that either! The notion of space travel was crazy; until it happened.

Every dollar of the space race was spent...on Earth.
It fueled a boom in economic and technological
development in legions of different fields:
Transistors - which gave way to integrated circuits.
Electron microscopes, plastics, composite materials, Teflon,
Ultra-sound, magnetic resonance, sonic beams, freeze-dried food.

Mistakes in testing were made, too. Early rockets often
blew-up on the launch pad, or soon after. The Apollo fire
killed three. They were using pressurized oxygen and
the electrical switches COULD have been off-the-shelf
spark-free ones. Instead; Huntsville schools get named for
Grissom, White, and Chaffee.

Yuri Gagarin's heat shield was reputedly made from Oak-tree sawdust.

But the little SURPRISE that started it all was called Sputnik.
'The future starts Today!'

Surprise!

"Sputnik wore out.
It spiraled back to Earth.
On re-entry, it burned up pretty soon.
Hail and goodbye,
To that Goose in the sky;
And in twelve more years a man walked on the moon!

Chorus: Beep beep beep beep...Hello There!
Sputnik sailed, giggling cross the sky!"

|
