Men, real men, are proud, strong and would rather go to war than follow their girlfriends on a shopping spree...

Yet, as strong and determined as we can be, girls always seem to get their way with us.

Why are we so weak? Why do we give in to so many silly requests from them?

Well, in this hour of weakness, I feel compelled to share my misfortune with other male posters, to possibly find some support and possibly a couple of good laughs...

Lets all post some of the silly things that our girlfriends made us do, that we are not so proud of, in the name of love. It'll be a good exercise for St-Valentine's day.

Being fairly lazy I've always prefered to have a brush cut. However, I've been forbidden by my gf to cut my hair since last April. Now that I have long hair, she made me go get streaks of light brown in my hair, saying that I'd do it if I truly love her...

Guess who got ugly streaks of brown hair in his once silky/shiny black hair...

You had to dye your hair? UGGG! I think the next step is to use eyeliner....

Just Kidding! (I hope)

The worst thing I had to do was to hold 3 tiny little purses while my GF and her friends raided some stores. I also had to hold all the bags.

I think all guys are the official holder of things.

I also paid for a sushi dinner for everyone. Which I didn't really mind. Somehow I can't complain about having 3 hot women eating with me at the same dinner table.

Edit: On another note I hardly spend any money on myself. I find it painful to spend money (I get a funny feeling every time I do)but whenever she is around I just pull out the wallet without a flinch.

Edited by: Chi ME at: 2/8/04 7:24 pm

O.o It sounds like you spend a lot of money on your girlfriend, Chi ME. That reminds me of the time Ryan (my ex-boyfriend), Kevin (one of my friends), and I were talking about Kevin's girlfriend India. Kevin told me he spent over $200 on a digital camera for his girlfriend. I told him that Ryan once bought me a Diet Coke. XD XD It was quite an amusing conversation, to say the least.

I went to a company dance with my ex. I hate dancing. I have no skills or wish to develop any. Dancing to me makes me feel very akward and clumsy. It's a chore when some one forces me to dance. If it's rock'n'roll I don't mind as much since you don't have to do any elaborate steps. But when I had to learn on the fly how to two step to country (country is evil and should be abolished) and dance to the Mexican equivalent of country... that was a painful experience. And then she tells me "Smile!" So I threw this stage smile on. She got mad. Thank God it was only three hours.
Then afterwards, we had to stop by a car club dance which was more modern music but still had to dance. Thank God again that there was a scermish and she decided we had to leave.
The last night we were out, it was her aunts birthday party. Again dancing, this time with her relatives.
I had to dance with her mother, her cousin, and she wanted me to dance with her scary looking sister. I swear she had to be like like 230 lbs and like 5'4". I totally didn't want to be there but she insisted. I let her go after we left. We left because her cousins boy friend showed up and all hell was about to break loose. Buncha drunks.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

Man, I feel for you, Chevy...

That's pretty bad when she forces you to go meet family members...

You always end up sitting in the middle of everyone and everyone questions you...

I also hate it when she does her girls' night out and drags me along. She'll be all nice and sweet before meeting her friends. But once they are together, you suddenly become invisible and they do all their girly stuff together...

And what's with going to the bathroom together??? I especially hate it when they all come out of the bathroom holding hands together and walking fast. It's like they've entered a kind of trance state... It's not normal anymore.

Guys would never do that in a million years!

They go in there as a group to discuss men. Things that they think may hurt your feelings are said in there. My ex never dragged me along on a girls night out, though. She did get together and have a "bitch session" with one of my friends ex's. I'm sure she complained about my shortcommings.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

The worst thing a girlfriend ever did to me was force me along on a religious retreat. It was sooo painful... I can't stand Christian rock or lectures on religion, so it was like going through hell for me. I had to hide for half of it, it was getting so bad...

I would have gladly traded with you, Chevy. I LOVE to dance, not so much to country, but anything else is open game.

First thing I'm saying is, if a gf says "if you love me, you'll do this" crap, don't go along with it if your uncomfortable with it.
Sorry to hear how a nice crop of sleek blackness had to go sour there DTM.

But the above saying is easier for me since I have no girlfriend yet (working on it though) that might otherwise make me drop my male attitude.

Faugh though, relationships at times are one of life's more challenging aspects with all the cheating, lying, pushiness, and energy control conflicts going on between couples.

Oh, you'll see, Fwinghon!

Girls have their ways to make you do things in the name of love.

But I mean, ultimately, since nothing they ask us last that long...if it makes them happy... You know...

There's just something about letting them get their ways... I think that I've always gave in because it always felt that in the bigger picture, that it adds something more to our couple. It's never that big of a deal, but it is for her.

But damn it; bringing Mihoshisman03 to a religious retreat...that's pushing the limits... hehehe At least, no one tried to convert you to anything.

Dancing is not so bad, Chevy. Have you ever tried dancing alone with your gf? Let her guide you. You won't regret it.

^^I'll have to go with DTM on that last part since I see it happening all the time at dances.

I suppose it wouldn't be bad if a girlfriend got her way most of the time (providing she did it sweetly) rather then get arrogant. That way your pride wouldn't be spoofed.

As for MM being forced to a retreat...... that's definately a wee bit far. But what was the poor guy to do?

i have to say, its rough for my gf to bring me along to something i dont like. not saying im being an ass about it. I once was nearly dragged into going to a dance which i couldnt go to because of scheduling conflicts, and i had to break up with her for it. And since my gf just dumped me, i wont be getting into anything bad like that just yet. I guess im lucky up to this point.

but a christian retreat? i could never stand that. i would just bring a book and hide out in a tent the entire time.

im playing nagi

in Tenchi Muyo Suvivor 4!!!

I

[/center]

I am a cucumber!

LOVE!? HAH! That's not what they're gettin' ya with! It's common knowledge, put your foot down, and say no too many times, and they roll over and say no everytime ~_~. The real problem though is to NOT let a woman have their way everytime, but not so much as to make them feel threatened. It's give/take on both sides, not you give and she takes. Believe me, I've been THERE enough. Love and relationship is like a game, ya gotta know the rules to succeed, and play to win.

Post subject: Re: ...

^^That seems to be a problem though in most relationships nowadays. Because man still wishes to retain his manliness and a woman wishes to exploit her new-gained role, relationships always seem to turn into a power struggle.

Relationships shouldn't have to be a game where one tries to beat the other (if it's in a competitive game, all's fair then), they should be a situation where two people benefit from each other without putting down their partners.

Unfortunatly, that's not the way it goes most of the time and relationships due end up as a power struggle in most cases. That's one of the main reasons I avoided get a gf for fear of something like a "win or lose" situation.

Control freaks. My friend is one of them. He flat out asked me in front of his girlfriend who should be in a control of a relation ship and then started talking in percentages. Saying he the majority of control his relation ship in front of his lady. I was just shocked. I couldn't believe he had the gall to dis his lady like that. Not to soon after they weren't going out any more. Silly man.

I hate dancing. It makes me feel weak. And my ex did lead most of the times. And at a Mexican dance, that's just totally sad. The man loses something in that situation and it's talked about much behind the back.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."
