09/12/2014: My previous attempt at renaming the directory to foil the spambots did not work. I'm trying now to change the login information for the SQL database. There may be a little bit of downtime but it shouldn't take long.
09/11/2014: I've been having problems with spambots preventing legit users from being able to sign up correctly. I've tried changing the directory from bbs to forums. Hopefully that will stop them and I can remove the retrictions stopping real users from signing up. Sorry if some of your bookmarks have become broken. They can be fixed by replacing bbs with forums in the properties.
Good day,

Next Saturday, a friend of mine is going to bring me on a ski slope for the first time in my life. Oh skiing! Skiing is great ^__^ As for tips, first off clothes etc, you going to want proper skiing clothes (obviously) like trouser and a jacket etc, but they can be very expensive. If you not sure how often you are going to do this it is probably better to borrow off someone if you can (you can always buy your own stuff later if you really enjoy it and plan of doing it more often).

Also, sun cream! You need it, and sunglasses. Unless it is actually snowing it gets sunny usually, and the sun will reflect off the snow too so you can easily get sun burnt. The first year I when skiing it ended up with my entire face sun burnt except for where I had been waring my sunglasses ^_^;;

As for actual technique, I will leave that for you friend ^_^

I hope you enjoy it, skiing is one of my favorite sports ^_^ I'm going to Austria this easter for some skiing myself, I can't wait ^___^

~ Links ~
[ My Final Fantasy Site | Tenchi Muyo! You don't need poles when you start. I find them a hassle. Make sure your boots are tight, but not too tight. And always bring lots of money, food is usually very (VERY) expensive.

When first going down a hill, ski with your skies in a V shape with each ski arching towards each other. Almost like forming a spearhead, but the skies are not supposed to touch.

Turn you right ski left if you want to go left.
Turn your left ski right if you want to go right.
This is only if your using the V technique as stated above.

If you want to stop while in the V mode, slowly ease the tips of your skies closer together (just don't touch or you'll land on your face or worse) while pushing the ends of your skies farther apart. You should gradually stop sooner or later.

Finally, don't go nuts trying to remember this as this is what I picked up when I started. You might be taught something different, so don't sweat this.

Enjoy and watch out for trees or your gonads will never forgive you!

Thanks guys!

I can really use the stuff in here!

Is there any types of exercises I can do to prepare myself for this Saturday? I guess stretching is the most right now, since too little time is left, right?

Stretching will definately help before skiing, especially if you do some cross-skiing.

I'd give you the basic stretches but you'd fall asleep while reading them.

So just find out some basic stretch moves from your school gym teacher or someone who does running and you should be alright.

Final bit of offered advice is, wear very thick pants if your nervous about getting slammed by a tree in the groinal area.

Final final bit of advice, don't pay attention to what I said in the above.
