09/12/2014: My previous attempt at renaming the directory to foil the spambots did not work. I'm trying now to change the login information for the SQL database. There may be a little bit of downtime but it shouldn't take long.
09/11/2014: I've been having problems with spambots preventing legit users from being able to sign up correctly. I've tried changing the directory from bbs to forums. Hopefully that will stop them and I can remove the retrictions stopping real users from signing up. Sorry if some of your bookmarks have become broken. They can be fixed by replacing bbs with forums in the properties.
Some soldier found this thing waiting for him in his sleeping bag.

Quote:
Camel spiders are one of the fastest running arthropods. Although they have four pairs of legs, they run using only three pairs. The first pair of legs or pedipalpi are held up in front of them and used in a similar manner to the antennae of insects. They have very long, silky setae and are constantly moving in order to locate and pick-up prey. Despite their fearsome appearance and their strong bite, solifugids are unlikely to harm humans. In the past they were considered venomous and extremely dangerous but it is now thought that the only risk of injury resulting from them is caused by shock or infection following a bite. There is no evidence of venom in any part of their body.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

Yeah, huh? I didn't think about that. I was just freaked out. I showed it to my middle brah. He was like OMG WTF is that?!

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

I was just going to say that...they're trying to pass them off as being the length of a man's leg, but check out how close they are to the camera!

Maybe not as big as the mans leg, but look all the way to the right of the picture frame. You can see the palm of the hand of the man holding the pliers that are holding the spider.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

Holy @#%$ @#%$. I was hoping you weren't referring to a spider when you put "arachnid" in your topic title, but it seems I was very wrong. I'd really appreciate it if you put a warning in your title next time because I'm stupid and thought you might be referring to a joke or a car or something. -.-; I hate spiders. x.X;; Actually, I have a fear of them. >.< Er... Yeah... n.n

OK... Maybe they're not venomous but the do take a hole out of you, eat a bit of you and then lay there eggs and let their young feed from you... My cousin's told me all about them, he's in Iraq now.

blank

This is all starting to sound a bit like the Iraqi version of the jackalope.

GR-chan, I'm sorry that you suffer from arachnaphobia, but that's why I gave it such a title. You see, I'm of the scientific nature. If I had meant it to be a joke I would have put a smilie face in the title. If it was car related, I would have put it in my garage. Not that any one would ever see it there. At the most, some spame link from here to there. Sorry if I scared you. Don't be skurred. It's just a picture.

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

Apparently all kinds of rumors have been started about these spiders. My news station actually did a story on them asking a scientist who specializes in arachnids about them. Aparently they only get up to five inches big with their legs spread, they eat smaller bugs and they don't really harm humans.

Smaller bugs? I heard that they numbed a bit of a camel's skin then made a small whole (which it would eat some of the camel out of) and ley it's eggs. It's said that the people who look after the camels in Iraq usually get "attacked" by them. That theory would explain the name.

blank

Ah-ha. Thank you Washu-chan

"Hashiriya are lonely drivers so, we do not need girlfriends."

Quote:
and their bite can sting or produce numbness, but is not lethal.

I ras right about the numbness part. And why would they numb you if they weren't going to eat that part of you?

I'm sure they do eat something from the camels....

blank
