09/12/2014: My previous attempt at renaming the directory to foil the spambots did not work. I'm trying now to change the login information for the SQL database. There may be a little bit of downtime but it shouldn't take long.
09/11/2014: I've been having problems with spambots preventing legit users from being able to sign up correctly. I've tried changing the directory from bbs to forums. Hopefully that will stop them and I can remove the retrictions stopping real users from signing up. Sorry if some of your bookmarks have become broken. They can be fixed by replacing bbs with forums in the properties.

Well I've been waiting for the resurrection of the RPG and Fanfic forums for a while...
Another thing is maybe we could do a group project. Like a web comic or flash toon, written, designed, voiced and animated by different people here. But that seems unlikely option.
Maybe we could start a continuing story, where each poster adds more to a story, but unlike that one in the forum games section, a bigger story, where each post much at least be a paragraph.... or something...
However, I think it is just holiday season, so things are bound to be quiet...

I would love to have some sort of webcomic as part of the board. I like webcomics and read several frequently. I'm not an artist, but would do what i could to support anybody interested in persuing such a task.
As for the role playing section. Right now we have just the Anime Survivor here. I should bring over the other forums. I think I'll leave the old Tenchi Survivor stuff there because at this point, they're all completed. If they were still in progress that woudl be a different story but they're not.. So look for the other ones being brought over soon.

Yeah activity of late has been dragging people who use to post a lot do not. Maybe try to get the new board on more search engines? I think we should start trying to recruit more people because the new OAV is out and there should be much more activity but there is not. Im actually out of ideas on how we can get more activity.

Webcomics sound awesome- it would be great the get a lot of different artists of the board doing a strip each- it would be interesting to see what styles alone everyone has. Those that wouldn't be too keen on the art could contribute to the plot/punchline/whatever... Eh, I think it sounds like a good idea, anyway! ^^;
Well, promotion is always an issue, as well. Now that the board is a little more active, it should be getting a few more viewers. As pointed out, a lot of members aren't around at the moment, so it's pretty quiet for the time being...

Here's an idea for a comic, a combination of Tenchi characters and forum antics. Where Tenchi characters from all series and spin offs meet the forum goers, or similar. Probably a good idea to not make too much of the forum goer characters. Have the Main writer/s as a God being/s for the Universe, with Neelick as an even Greater God behind them, a few select members of the forum as full cast members, and a few others doing Camos... And probably not follow any of the actual Series continualities, just be a semi parody of all series, and even the fanfics we have here... I'm not sure how often we should do it, but I think that the Weekend should have a comic too, but one more based around the events of the Survivor, like having a few cast members of the main comic give a "Survivor Summery" for the previous week.

Yeah I was thinking the same thign that getting listed on search engines woudl be the best way to get new members. The main page is listed well but I'd like to get the board listed higher as well to draw its own people. All visitors who visit the page will not visit the board, let alone become a regular member.
I think if somebody was looking to join a board, they'd probalby search boards on a google search or something.
I'd like to submit the board to google and stuff but the problem with them is its so hard getting listed on any search engines. Either that or I dont know how to do it right.
Anyway anybody have any advice on submitting? Or some tricks to getting listed in a good position. Not much help getting listed extremely low on a search result

It's funny. Both my brothers don't like post forums. Only one of mine will get on a post forum about the local music scene.
They fashion them selfs as "Scenesters" they are all about hanging out at bars and live music events. I don't know if post forums are a past trend. Most people I know in real life would rather be out-and-about then sitting home and posting.
Only reason I'm not out there with them is because of my work schedule. If I worked days, I'd be out on the scene picking up chicks every night.

Like I posted in the eerily similar thread, I don't think the only problem is that we're not coming up on search engines. We're too detatched. When was the last time we did something big? When was the last time we RPed outside of the Survivors, when we argued about something at all? I remember in the old days we'd have near-flame wars about whether Ryoko or Ayeka was hotter. But nowadays, we don't have those fiery personalities like we did. We don't have the cool forum veterans we used to have. We have some of them, and of course myself, but we don't have the same kinds of people we did have.
Heck, look at the chatroom. Once a month? Honestly, I'd never remember. What's the big deal about not just having a permanantly open chatroom? It feels like the local pool only being open one hour a week. Time limits aren't cool.
If you want to really open this forum up, we need to come off as elitists. We need to make people think that joining this forum and talking to the people who post on this bulletin board is the coolest thing in the world. And that's why we need a clan. We need to start playing games online and hacking websites with the moniker "TEEENCHICHAN^_^XDXD". It's the only way.

We don't need flame wars to increase activity if anything that decreases activity because people get so pissed off they won't come back. Last winter was the best time for this forum activity for me was on a all time high and I had a lot of fun chatting with CY,MM, CF and WoW. But WoW and CF are gone (sorta) and they where my forum buds so that really kills my activity. I think we need to be more in touch with people I talk with ECF and Nee sometimes on AOL and CY on chat sometimes. When you know more people on the forum it makes it more enjoyable to post. Another problem is the Tenchi OAV didnt have the effect on activity like I think we thought it would (not that ezboard helped either). I think we should try to broaden the forums overall appearance to beyond tenchi that would attract more users. If I knew chat was even being used I would be on all the time but its seldomly used by anyone outside the mirc client.

Well first of all the flame war thing was just an example and secondly it looks like you typed a few run on sentences there and thirdly I'm just saying and fourthly I was just saying that's how it used to be when the forums were really populated and a lot of people posted often so I dont know if it would work now but it might and I think we should be trying whatever we can so this forum doesnt die ok OH and yeah thanks for restating all the things that I said in the post right before yours ok thxx

Firstly, let me admit that yeah, I was wrong about the restating thing. I forgot that there were two threads about the same thing. You did restate what I said in the other thread, but that's more my fault than yours.
And your run-on?

Still, I would like to take the time to elaborate more thoroughly on my point that arguing means that the board is doing well. If you are enough into a forum to argue with someone it means you like going there. And most people in an argument, even on a bulletin board, come back to make another point against their adversary, who has mostlikely done the same. It at the very least keeps people coming back temporarily and leads to some good clean entertainment for everyone else.
