If I didn't have school I would go down there and help out with relief. (My opinion on hurricane preparation/response below) I believe that more should have been done to prepare for such a hurricane (they should have planned for a worse-case scenario), and also help to the people who couldn't evacuate from their homes before the storm (disabled, poor). It also took too long for them to get relief down there. Relief/Aid got to the tsunami victims faster than it did to people in our own country. ot- My cat's name is Katrina. When it first became a tropical storm I was like, " It has the same name as that cat, its going to be a major storm". |
