I prefer manga over anime for several reasons. Firstly, a lot of wonderful things can be destroyed from the transition of a manga into an anime. The most common of these is mostly plot. It's often changed to fit with an episode schedule, which can cause the story to be a series of situations with an occasional plot relevant item instead of a story that flows from moment to moment. Also, many things are cropped out entirely in an anime. I also find myself frustrated when situations happen in a different order, or become entirely different. Like Chrono Crusade. Bad ass story. The anime is still pretty cool but...damn...the story makes me bonkers sometimes. Secondly, I adore comics for the art. I am an artist interested in graphic novels and due to the nature of anime, a lot of quality must be simplified for quantity. It's a shame, but necessary. I'll use Bleach as an example. Tite Kubo's work is beautiful. It steps out of the traditional styles and does it's own beautiful thing. Unfortunately, the style must be tweeked for anime. Also...it is so EASY to fail voicing. So easy. |

I prefer Manga over Anime and Sub over Dub! Naruto is INFINITELY better as manga than the anime. Also, some anime series (excellent though they might be) end far before the manga and don't have the resolution that the manga has (like Fruits Basket). Don't get me wrong, anime is awesome, but manga is often so much better. I think I'll stop here, since supergirlcomix has done an excellent job of explaining why already. |

I prefer manga. There is just so much more variety. Also, you can control the pace sort of. Instead of waiting for a scene to drag out in an anime, you can just skim it in the manga if you're not too interested in it. Also, most of my favorite stuff, are manga only or have been made into crappy anime. |

I find that it really depends on the manga or anime in question. Anime like Eureka Seven and those that were anime before they were manga, I usually prefer the anime. Also manga are expensive and I hate reading PDFs on my monitor. |

I would agree that it often depends on which came first. I like to see the "vision" of the original creator in the story, and usually this is (more often than not) in the manga version. Additionally, there are details and intricacies in the manga stories that are often missed or omitted in the anime version. Additionally, I abhor anime fillers. Deeply. |

I much prefer anime over manga, however with some long running anime I can't bare to watch it after a certain time. The fillers and time wasting in ShonenJump! anime is rediculous so I have to read the manga (Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, etc). |
