Yes... animal right activists... I was reading some of the crap they've pulled recently and it really pissed me off.

OH, they were throwing rocks at this scientist house and writing "killer" on the his driveway. Also they were holding up signs saying, "Our neighbor kills animals". The guy was doing animal testing, but the good kind. Not the sadistic and messed up kind. I mean thanks to animal testing we just developed a vaccine for lyme disease, which is good for us Midwesterners who are infested with deer ticks.
And in IN the HSUS is trying to stop dog training for coyote dogs. 'Ya see, some trappers trap coyotes using humane methods and keep 'em for two weeks giving them food, water, and medication and then they sell 'em to these pen owners who buy the coyotes and take care of 'em. Then dog owners bring their coyote dogs there and they have 'em train. Some do get teared up, but the rest get really wise and can really mess with the dogs. This is why Natives call the coyote the trickster. Also their plenty of other coyotes for the other dogs to chase so it's not always one individual coyote. But the HSUS found a few pens who were treating the coyotes horribly and used that as a stereotype to take down the "live market" for coyotes as it's called.
Some people don't understand about our eco-system. The coyote is an animal that can adapt to pretty much any type of environment. They are scavengers that go after mice to children. Just a while ago in Cali. a two-year old was almost going to be lunch for a coyote. I mean the bugger picked up the kid with it's jaw. The kid was rescued and is fine, but it could've ate 'em. Coyotes are also very close related with wolves and in the east their breeding with the new wolf population making a super-wolf, which is ruining the wolf recovery program. Don't think I or anyone else want them wiped out, but properly managed. I mean all states west of the Mississippi have an all-year long coyote season that is how populated they are. In the east some states are opening seasons like that. Ya' see with the coyote if theirs to many of 'em they can wipe out other predators like foxes and bobcats (more like eat 'em). So, they have less competetion for food, but eventually their'd be to many of 'em to have a steady diet. Without a good diet their emune system gets weaker, which means their more vulnerable to disease like distemper and mange. Both are like being crucified. Distemper the animals' eyes shut, they have neasua, diahereha, vomiting, and seisures until it dies. Mange is caused by a parasite that feeds of the protien in their hair folicles. Which means they loose their fur, which is kinda like their armor. During their summer they get torn up by thorn bushes and honey locust trees (thorn trees) worse without their fur. Then in winter comes sweet death when they freeze to death.
So, that live market, trapping, and hunting can manage the coyote enough for them to have a more balanced population for the other three predators (red & gray foxes and the bobcat) to be live side by side as well (not in peace, but not wiped out at least). Ya' see, these city foos think we country folk are a bunchg of dumb hicks who just wanna shoot something. When in reality we do the research to back up the "whys" these foos just go on some big speech 'bout killing cute fuzzy animals... their cute, but when their tearing up a rabbit or being torn up themselves by something bigger isn't that cute. Sometimes these guys just don't see that nature isn't all bambi and lovedovy... it is kill or be killed in nature. Mother nature can be a hell sometimes.

Anyways, a guy from my Church has a wolf hybrid. The bugger is huge. Barks alot, but he's so fluffy and cute ^.^... the wolf... not the guy

Well, one time the guy had a pup coyote. Something happened to the mom and he found the pup and they named 'em Rocky. Then our DNR officer (who surprisingly actually knew this) took 'em because you cannot take animals out of the wild. You can get a license to rescue sick or wounded animals, but they have to be released as soon as possible.
The woman who he got the wolf from was breeding them for some quite time so apparently it ain't illegal here (pardon my redneck)
