Close ups? You must be talking to ECF, but if you mean that Katana pic, that's pencil and paper scanned and colored in whatever I had at that time.

It's never been MSpaint... but I've had different proggies over the years to do image stuff, paintshop pro, etc. Right now it's a freebee I got when I signed up with my ISP called PhotoImpact XL.

I always do (or did it's been a looong time) this:

Pencil Sketch
Trace in pencil over a lightbox (learned that from ShiRu)
Go over those lines with fine point black pen
Erase pencil lines
Scan
Edit (color, etc.)

One day when I have some extra $$$ (HA Yeah right!) I want to get/try out a tablet...
