My mom used to be a major, and excuse my French, bitch. For three years she stumble around the house either drunk or high off her meds, and when she wasn't under the influence she would be so distant. She would act more of a roomate than a mom. I felt terrible for my dad, how would you feel when your four states away and your wife is trying to kill herself and you do not know when your son is going to call you saying, "Mom's dead!" So, yeah Comix I think I understand where your coming from.

Comix, your dad drinks, doesn't he?

My sister had issues before I was born. She will still throw it up in his face today, because he's changed. She won't let it go though.

I didn't have many issues until I was like.. 9-10.

I remember many days where his hand was around my neck, up against the wall. Ugh. Makes me sick.

Now he's a Deacon in church. How that happened, I have NO clue. XD

Yeah.

It's getting worse.

When I was little, he worked a lot, and then he'd go out to the bar. He was mostly gone, so I didn't notice. I didn't have time to totally booze out, he was liked to go have a beer.

Then...he got hurt at work. They cut down his hours...so he's at home a lot...he doesn't go out...and he has nothing to do...so he drinks here. He's mentally different too...and the booze isn't helping. My mom doesn't want to leave because he can't take care of himself, and her credit would be shot. My brother hates him...and I'm the family scape goat.

My brother and I are pretty close. We're twins.

Ah. That's difficult.
Is he suffering for some reason? Or do you think it was just something that came about by accident?

My dad wasn't always a drinker.
He started after him and my mom got married (25 years ago). His brother died, and it hit him really hard.

From then on, he was like.. evil. For lack of a better term.
He use to beat my mom, and my sister and I.

Well...My dad's had an...interesting life to say the least...but he's always been a drinker. He's had trauma all while he's been drinking...but the accident made it worse...along with the deathof his parents.

I can understand that. Even just having a best friend die is traumatizing.

Parents is a completely different story.

I hate to excuse alcoholism.

Or drug use.

But sometimes, it just feels right.

All I can say is Comix is that your free next year and you can leave hell behind you.
And ECF, your dad has problems and I can tell he went through a transition from devil to saint. Amazing what accpeting Christ can do for you.

Well, Ive learned first hand, that even if you turn 18, you're not completely free.
There are always things that hinder you.

I mean, I'm 18 but not only do my parents not want me to leave, but there are medical consequences if I do so.

Comix might either have an obligation to stay, or consequences to leave.

To ECF on the first part: The ironic part- his best friend also died in highschool, as well as various other close friends. This is why he LOATHES holidays with a passion. But he does not drink BECAUSE of these things. He drank the same amount after each ordeal. He has no excuses. He drinks because it was his place holder...and now he's a mean drunk. End of Story. *shrug*

To Minagi: Never can tell what will happen in a year.

To ECF on the second: Really, I'm free to leave once I graduate. I can move to China if I wished. But...I refuse to abandon my mother. I will visit her...but I will be sneaky about it. He will NOT see me.

All you can do is pray. I know it's hard, I got to angry with my mom at times to even pray for her.

I just pray my mother will still be happy.

...my father hates religion. Loves to tease about it.

We pray for him anyway.

He hates that. XD
