haunting memories

this one went in the casket of my friend who died before my birthday.....

memories haunt me
killing me slowly
seeing your face
that one last time

today is a gift
thats why its the present
but when your not here
its not the same

i stand at your casket
the peace in your smile
but i know its not real
your life not fully lived

how could you
come back again?
how can i stand
when my balance is gone?

how could you
say to me
in whispers barely heard
that all are next?

the time has come once again
say to me
death will come

the end is near
the light will come
heavens will shine
hells will burn

how can i stay
in the open with fear?
how can i be
when you are so near?

the reaper has
told me all to tell
how can i stay
in a world meant to fail

now i understand
why you said it to me
no others would know
its your time, you must go

i'm sorry your gone
but you had to go

the world around me turns
nothing gone wrong
in the hearts if the others

i hope my friends is resting in peace

That's sad that a friend of yours died so young... and the song shows your sorrow. It's wonderful. Good job

Sad memories can lead to great memoirs... and such. An example would be this song you wrote.

I enjoyed it, after listening to it a couple I feel your longing to see your friend again and a small sense of betrayl, a betrayl that your friend left you... not this person's choice of course OO'

thanks......half the time i don't even know what i'm writing til i'm done...... this is after a great period of depression....... he died a few days before my birthday.......so you can imagine.......
