True, but among the lolicon community I belong to, lolicon refers to flat/small-chested girls and the people who like them. Pettanko might be a more accurate word, but it's not as commonly used. EDIT: I should also point out that this only applies to fictional characters. Don't worry, a lot of people don't know the full meaning. |

That's ok, it's not a subject most people want to think about. Looking at that picture, I'd say that the two blue-haired girls definately arn't loli. The other three might be, it's hard to see from their poses. As far as I know, Otaku is always negative. I've never heard it used in a positive sense. But when I started learning about the anime/mange community, it meant 'fan of Japanese stuff'. Sadly, you're both right. The word lolicon has a specific meaning amongst western fans, but it Japan it does basically mean pedo. I've often thought that if a different word had been used - pettanko, see above - had been used, it'd be better for everyone. |

The Japanese seem to be much more accepting of it though.... especially from what I've seen so far on various forms anime media. |
