1. Ifurita from "El Hazard, The Magnificent World"

The most beautiful anime girl ever, IMO. And I found her story of breaking free from a lifetime of servitude and having her mind controlled to be rather compelling.

2. Sasami/Tsunami from "Tenchi Muyo!"

Again, I might be biased on looks, as I consider Sasami's adult form, Tsunami, to be one of the most beautiful anime women out there. But, even aside from looks, she still has a moving story. In fact, it was episode 9 of TM! that won me over to the series.

3. Misao Amano/Pixy Misa from "Pretty Sammy"

I like Misao's character a lot because I identify with her a great deal. Misao reminds me very much of what I was like as a child..............and Missa reminds me of myself now

4. Ukyo Kuonji from "Ranma 1/2"

Another character I identify with. Ukyo's story of unrequited love towards an individual who only views her as a friend is identical to a situation I was in back in high school. That, and I think Ukyo is the cutest of Ranma's fiance's

5. Misaki Jurai from "Tenchi Muyo!"


Come on, who wouldn't love a mother like Misaki?

I'll just do females because I don't really recall many male characters. I don't really have much tiem to watch anime anymore, so most of it is old. I'll probably forget a lot though, soooooo.. I'll just list the ones that come to mind. (Since I remember them, they must be good, right? ) This is manga/anime too. In no particular order -

1. Ryoko- her character alone is what won me over into loving the Tenchi series (though I hate her va in OVA3)

2. Haruko (FLCL)- maybe its because she has some Ryoko tendencies, but I found Haruko to be hilarious and was one of two characters that made this confusing show worth watching

3. Washu- one of the funniest characters in the show (imo) coupled with a surprisingly deep background

4. Masaki- hilarious, if she had more screen time she may be higher on this list

5. Sango (inuyasha)- her level headedness and strong personality are both high points in my book, but also I found that she wasnt as annoying as Kagome..which in return made the show watchable for me. Plus I loved watching the relationship between her and Miroku unfold

Guys-

1- Gene Starwind (outlaw star)- badass gun slinger with a sweet tooth for women, deff my type of main character, his childish thinking/acts also supply some nice humor but he evolves into a much stronger and deeper character through out the show

2- Vash (trigun)- I found him to be hilarious, I never got to finish the show (i havent seen the last 5 episodes or so) but he alone I thought made the show much more enjoyable

3- Duo Maxwell (Gundam Wing)- everything about his personality I thought was great, coupled with his undeniable skill. Easily my favorite pilot from the series

4- Miroku (inuyasha)- hes a pervert, the constant grabbing of behinds was great. (I guess I like perverted characters)

5- Tenchi- now this was a toss up between Tenchi and Sesshomaru (inuyasha) Sess was easily my favorite character in Inuyasha, but that show I felt was just..not as good as when I first started watching it. Tenchi on the the other hand, was probably the first and so far only anime I ever watched that I can still enjoy very much so. Tenchi himself was a bit annoying since he's the way he is with the women, but thats also what makes him so special. He has a big heart and it shows.

I love vash! I havent seen trigun in years! I need to watch it again! I also love haruko choo. ^^ Shes pretty.
