| Post subject: | Free Flash Slidesho |
I've had somebody ask me for a slideshow on their website. Does anybody know of a good one? I've been looking at webpages, but all the free ones have the company's logo on it and I dont' want to pay for it Anybody know a good one? I'd basically need one which starts on its own, restarts when it gets to the last picture, and preferably free without logos in it. |

Depends on what all it has to consist of and so forth. I guess a super easy method would be to use something like a Picasa, Badongo, or Photobucket act, load the pics, and then make a slideshow using their built in tools. Otherwise, I typically would do something like that with Flash. But I hail from the ancient days of Flash 5 and MX... no clue what Flash is like anymore. There's also flash sites where they post up the flash and instructions pre made and you just have to load up the file names and everything in the same location on the hosting. I think one of the older sites I used to go to for that type of thing was FlashKit. Not sure if they still exist. You could also do it via some GIF animation, but those files tend to get grainy due to color palette restrictions and the file sizes are rather large due to frames. |

Yeah a gif would be a HUGE file. So that's not much of an option. What they want is a slideshow that starts automatically and loops over and over. I've found some, but all the ones I found feel the need to post their logo. I was hoping for one which didn't have any logos on it. They good ones all appear to be in flash. I haven't worked with flash since Flash 5 and Flash MX. Its been a long time though, I don't even have the software installed on my cpu anymore. And can't find the CD for it either. I guess I could find a downloadable version online. I was hoping that somebody would be like "Yeah, I know a great one its at such and such a website". I don't think the free ones like photobucket would work either though :\. Maybe I can find something in Javascript. My search continues blah. If anybody else knows of one I'd love to see it. |

Well it's really not a big deal to do in Flash MX. You'll spend more time setting up the tweens and a simple restart at keyframe 1 actionscript than anything else. Don't know if I still have any of my old avatar FLAs around, but it's the same exact thing. You'd have to enlarge the stage and replace the frame content. |

I was able to get a hold of one actually. Its written in Javascript and uses some css to control the appearance and transitions. I don't understand the css for the transitions yet though lol. The wierd part is it centers everything on the page and I gotta figure out why its doing that. Its not the css doing it apparently, I removed the css, the problem must be in the javascript and haven't figured out where yet. For those old school members out there, Zeal gave it to me hehe. I caught him on ICQ and he had it. |
