Hi Sparky! I'm glad to see you. Things are about what they were before you showed up, in that there's sporadic Tenchi discussion and mainly (hopefully) fun off-topic stuff. Hope that doesn't discourage you from staying! |

*What basically happened was that some troll was talking crap about this site and some of the members here on the comments sections of some Saint Knight translator's blog. Jibril made a thread confronting this issue since she figured the troll read this website. Bkev moved the thread, calling involved everyone idiots, and locked it. Jibril then asked if the way he closed it was necessary in the Questions for Neelick subsection. Instead of letting Neelick answer, both mods piled on. Jibril had been unhappy here a long time for several reasons and made a new thread that she was moving to Ayeka.net. In retaliation, the mods banned her. I, Zigra, and Takeda Kenji protested this and their stated reasoning. In particular, mjhennessey took Takeda's words out of context to seem like he was approving the ban. Takeda best refuted this interpretation of his words and most of mjhennessey's reasons point by point in page 2 of that thread. This was blown off and mjhennessey admitted he couldn't explain it well and instead justified it by saying Jibril "is a longtime troublemaker going back to the days of the AIC BBS of which I was a member as well." Which I know is a fabrication because I was a member too, those were my most active Tenchi days, in fact, and Jibril was a member in excellent standing there. So Zigra, Takeda, and I voluntarily left for Ayeka.net more or less as well as we were all unhappy with the decision. As far as I'm aware, the majority of the members here actively discussing Tenchi at the time left for that site or the other within a month but more because of they had more traffic than any actual feeling on this specific matter. (Previous to that was another exodus months earlier.) A few days after that incident, from what I remember, the same blog comment troll that started this came in with a edited copy of the Saint Knights comments thread they falsely claimed was complete and untouched. The mods accepted the copy the troll posted as evidence they were right. However, the troll kept posting and posting some hate, and the mods deleted some of his posts in contradiction to that very subforums description "It will not be moderated." I suppose because the very same troll subsequent rants undermined the veracity of his own "evidence". I thought that was inconsistent to the stated rules and still not happy how management treated Jibril, however, at Ayeka.net we have never discussed you guys or your site AFAIK. We got over it fast. It's really unfair to the person who can't or won't come there and defend themselves. The same courtesy in return would be nice. This was unrelated ot our own drama, it was a post about ANB's stalker. While I understand your bias, I wish you would come here to discuss more than that; your occasional pop-ins are only about that. I never once heard from you about other drama that you claimed someone said they would PM the mods about, and I asked you what this was about before you disappeared. As for Sparks, well she frequents Tenchi Forums more than here anyway. |
