What's really scary, I was thinking about it and it's around 10 YEARS since I first joined up at the older Tenchi Board. Scary thought. Back then I was just finishing highschool, now I'm getting married in less than a week @_@ |

Yeah its had its ups and downs over time. Usually every up is followed by a mass exodus of people caused typically by one or two people. |

Well anything has it's ups and downs. And with anything like a TV show or something it peaks and there are still die-hard fans, but popularity doesn't last forever. |

I would rather argue that it was driving off the remaining posters to Ayeka.net that was the final nail. TF and Ayeka.net was like a 50/50 split back then. |

Oooh, it's been quiet like this before but people somehow find their way back. It's always good to see some of the old timers return again, even if it is just for a short visit. ^_^ |

A resurgence isn't coming. Especially not here. There are a couple more vibrant, and I use the term relatively, Tenchi boards around so it's not like this place was needed like it was back in 2009 when it was the only game in town. But forums are a dying breed anyway with the rise of social media, especially ones predicated on temporary fads such as a once-popular series. Finding a decent anime forum is hard enough, let alone one on a single show. Heck, a lot of the Harry Potter forums are dying now and it's was easily like 1000x bigger than Tenchi ever was. I have a facebook group on Tenchi and it's slow, basically just me and my friends. Also have a Tenchi DeviantArt Group, but that took a ton of work just to get a relatively small following. The real beating heart of the Tenchi fandom, in terms of concentrated fan participation, is at DeviantArt and maybe Fanfiction.net Happy 3000th Post to Me. Outta here. |
