Ali walks down the street as night draws near to the gate leading out of town wearing a beggar's outfit preparing to head for his camp in the woods outside of town when a young boy calls to him.<br><br>"Help me! Please help me!"<br>"What is the matter young one?"<br>"Some big men have snatched my brother and dragged him into that alleyway over there and are beating him up after he refused to give them his money!"<br>"Lead on."<br>The boy leads Ali into an alley and points to a door nearby in the end.<br>"There! I think they took him in there!"<br>"Stay back and let me handle this."<br>Ali is about to open the door when it's opened from the inside and out steps the Tech Leader from his previous fight.<br>Tech Leader: Greetings Edain, sorry about the ruse, but we knew a Knight just couldn't resist helping the oppressed.<br>Technomancers appear out of the door and from the alley entryway with weapons drawn.<br>Tech Leader: Alright boy, you can go now.<br>Boy: Yes sir.<br>Boy runs out of the alley as the technomancers move in and grab Ali.<br>Ali: So what was it? Blackmail, or just your basic bully tactics?<br>Tech Leader punches Ali hard in the stomach.<br>"You know, you knights are all the same, your so f***ing pompus, yet none of you had the balls to use your so-called "Unique Powers" to even save yourselfs from our Golems when they came for you."<br>"Ughh. Maybe if the golems hadn't killed the apprentices while having most of the teachers poisoned by gas cylinders while everyone slept, maybe we might have shown just how 'lethal' our powers really were."<br>"But now we'll never know now we'll we? Ahhh, it doesn't matter, the Commander is expecting you and who knows? Don't let him get away this time or it's your asses!"<br>Three technomancers run up a ladder leading to the roof while the other 3 and the leader head out into the street to fan out on either side of the warehouse line.<br>"You 2 take the right, we'll take the left, and don't let him out of your sight!<br>"Yes sir!"<br>The technomancers fan out while the other 3 on the roof begin they're pursuit on the rooftops.<br>"You can't hold out for long now knight, sooner or later, I will have you."<br><br>5 minutes later, Ali slipps through a window into an abandoned warehouse and collapses onto the floor in pain.<br>"Arrgghh!! Damnit! I should been more cautious! FAUGH! That the ones in this city are not very high level for most part, with The Commander we saw eariler being only a 5th or 6th level (or even lower) member, with usually only command over only technomancers, as this City is not usually the center of many happenings, so this would only be a outpost HQ... It would also be interesting if the NeoMancers were in fact in the city on other business, but when you came up, you were written into their plans. There was no sign of him when Linden arrived. He questioned the guards near by but they, like him, had been occupied by break in and no-one had seen anything. Linden tried to take stock of the situation. Curie had disappeared along with with most of his papers containing information about the death stone. Linden had no idea where Curie was or how to find him. All in all it didn't look good. He decided that whatever had happened he would probably need his katana so he headed quickly back to his house.<br><br>As he went he worried about Curie, who was after all fairly old and Lilly who was too young be to left alone for too long. Maybe he should have told her more, but she was only 6. As he reached his house he went inside and came out again a moment later this time carrying a long curved blade, the katana had been his fathers and was all he had left of his family who were all now dead.<br><br>Linden was not sure what to do next, but decided to head back and check out Curie's office again, maybe there something there. It was also full of machinery, such as loading Golems. As they entered, Machine Mage registered thier arrival.<br>In the Middle of the Warehouse he appeared, in plain sight.<br><br>He hat a very old and tattered looking Mage hat on the top of his head, which was matched with a very tattered cloak. The rest didn't quite seem to match up as neatly. Under his cloak he appeared to have some kind of metallic armour, but it looked to thin to actually protect. He also had pipes and wires linking to different parts of his body.His hands looked more like machine claws due to the gauntlets he wore. But the weirdest part was his face. He wore a metal mask, that looked like a beautiful craftsmanship, more like it belongs to an aristicrat than some mercenary that was currently standing before them. Also he had wire like hair sticking out from behind it. But even more weird was his beauitful deep eyes, which had a certain glow to them.<br><br>"What...is...your...quest?"<br><br>The "visitors" hesitated.<br><br>"And...for...my..records...what...are..your names..."<br>He looks directly at Linden for a while.<br>"Ah... You were... the one... my Master... noticed... around....before..."<br>He returned to not really looking at anything in particular.<br>"Answer....my...questions...."<br><br>(*No one attack him yet, as I am going to bed right now. Meanwhile, the technomancer squad has reached the warehouse where Ali is hiding and prepares to check it out.<br><br>Five technomancers enter quietly through the main door and prepare to fan out along the walls and rendevouz in the center.<br><br>Tech 1: (whispers) Alright, same as before. Murdock and Phillip take the right, you Smitty and Adrian take the left and I take the center. Go silently and watch your partners backs. This one is larger then the last ones so the Knight might be hiding on a large pile of crates. Looking upon the Knight, the technomancers assume he doesn't notice them and prepare to shoot him.<br>Murdock: This is too easy.<br>*Murdock aims a hand-held crossbow while Phillip lines up his four-barreled pistol.*<br><br>Suddenly, Ali opens his eyes and with lightning speed hurls a socket and hit's Phillip's hand, causing him to drop his gun while Murdock fires his crossbow. Almost when it surely was too late, Ali wipes his hand out and catches the explosive quarrel just inches from his face. Swiftly, yet without the appearance of haste, the Edain rose to his feet while drawing his swords in the same motion and advanced. His wounded leg moved without hinderance and his face appeared as blank as a zombie. Murdock drew his curved broadsword as Philip reached down and grabbed his gun. Ali still advanced as Phillip aimed his gun and fired, expecting to cut down the Knight in a flash. Before Phillip managed to pull the trigger, Ali bent slightly down and leaped into the air completeling a somersault before landing to the right of the gun-bearing technomancer and sliced the pistol in half with one clean vertical swipe of his left-handed longsword. <br><br>Murdock: He's over here! Hurry!<br>Before Phillip even managed to drop the now useless gun, Ali slaps his head with both his blades and dispatches him with a swift kick to the forehead, knocking Phillip to the ground in a heap.<br>Murdock: @#%$.<br>The Knight then turned to face the remaining technomancer as he jabbed at Ali's exposed abdomen, only to have the his sword knocked away by a quick side parry. Raising one sword high and the other low, Ali advanced on the technomancer and slashed low with one sword while keeping the other to his side. Murdock responded with a parry only to realize he had exposed his chest to Ali's other sword and brought it back in a hasty movement. Instead of jabbing at the technomancer, Ali swipped his sword at Murdock's sword hand and caught the fingers with the side of his blade.<br>Dropping his sword in a grimmer of pain, Murdock leaps back and desperately draws a knife from his belt as Ali flicks the broadsword away onto a nearby shelf with his longswords.<br>Adrian: Here! they're over here! <br>Adrian and Smitty rush down a narroway with the tech leader coming from another sideway and trap Ali and Murdock between them with weapons drawn before Ali can react.<br>"Your screwed now Knight." Murdock sneered at Ali as the other three techomancers closed in for the kill...<br><br> <p></p><i></i>
