Hey all, here's an idea I have. We all hate it when we start a new RPG and no one joins, I mean, it just takes up space... So here's a thread to ask "Hey, would anyone join this?", where people can reply saying yes I will join that, or make suggestions to slightly change an idea, or post their own suggestion RPGs. I'll start with a load of my own... Princess Dreams-- Fantasy Comedy/RPG Parody. Requires at least one female player. 1014 (or something) years ago, the Princess of the Goddesses fell into a deep sleep after a confrontation with a great darkness. Her dreams formed a reality based around the fairy tales her parents had always told her. True to this form, she added the Every thousand years element to her world. Every thousand years, she herself would be incarnated as a Princess in the land of her dreams. This happened for the first time 14 years ago. Now the Princess is enbarking on a quest to awaken her true self. However the darkness that made her fall into her slumber was imprisoned also in her mind, and have had 1000 years to plan their escape, and see this princess as the key to their plans. Semi-high powered game. (this is my favourite new idea) (Code: PD-1) Paranoia Chronicles-- More Serious Head messing up psychological thriller. Inspired by such things as Paranoia Agent, Silent Hill(4), Perfect Blue, Boogiepop Phantom, this will be an RPG to leave the players disturbed. Enter a world were reality and fantasy is not blurred, but non-existent, and nightmares come true. How can one tell the difference between an Imortal Monster and something that isn't really there when they have fallen deep into into the maddness that is putting a vice-like grip on the city of Tokyo? Possiblt characters would be Police/detectives, reporters/journalists, and other people who have got mixed up in these events, though you can never be sure that the person running along beside you isn't, deep down inside, responsible for the beast on your heels. Low Powered games (i.e. although the things after you will be highly supernatural, all players will be realistic, at least at first, until they work out what exactly is going on...) (PC-1) Survive This: Urban Legends-- A Survival Horror Parody, based on a comic idea I need to redo. This will be about a group of kids who wonder into a haunted mansion one dark night, to find it is really a Mad Professor's Lab, filled with scary monsters and other ungodly creations. Or they would be scary if you were a two year old. However, even though the Professor himself is a loser, he isn't the original owner of this place, and that person left things here much much darker than that idiot could ever imagine. Medium Powered game (you can have a couple super powers/super natural abilities. But remember, you are kids, of say 8-14 or something.) (ST-1) Worst Days of Our Lives-- You just lost your job this morning. You other half has just dumped over lunch. And now in the afternoon, there's a Zombie mutant Outbreak, an attack by an undead Warlock with legions of demons, and an alien invasion, and much much more. It's going to be a long day... Basically inspired by Shawn of the Dead, a Zombie Comedy. Low Powered Game, heck you are encouraged to be was weak and pitiful as possible. (WD-1) Age of Dreams: Wonders' Chronicles-- An idea based around another idea I have. Something happened that broke reality in the US, allowing some to develop strange powers fuelled by their imagination. Some consider themslves Gods without equal, and try to force their will on those around them. Some fight to protect the freedom of all, opposing these self-proclaimed gods. People, such as you. A High Powered Game. (I need to think more about the Background first for the Age of Dreams....) (AG-1) I hope to get started with one of these soon... |

Well, I'd started it already shortly before the board first went down, but I'd like to know if anyone's interested in restarting War of The Balance, a post-apocalyptic fantasy comedic parody/criticism of religious principles and paganism. Basically, a high-powered game where the object is to wake a sleeping goddess and save the world, but the rules are slightly different than you'd expect. It would probably be more similar to the movie "Dogma" in tone than anything else. I'm not sure yet exactly how it will develop . . . to the comedy, adventure, or dark end of things, but I'd like to know if anyone is still interested in playing. |

There seems to be some Interest in Princess Dreams, right? Well this was the new idea that was most clear so that's good. We need a few more players first though... And we need to decide who is the Princess. We Need: The Goddess Princess- A Stero-typical princess prefered. It is known who the Goddess Princess is, there was even a big celebration for her birth, etc. I would also prefer the perky, cute varity of Princess. Knight Bodyguard- The Princess' Knight in Shinning Armour. Would also like- A Mentor, a Wizard, and various other fantasy RPG stero-types. These can also be combined. Just to go into a few details. This is intended to be a Series of RPGs, each one starting on the 15th birthday of the new incarnation of the Princess, and ends with the defeat of the Darkness' plans. Other Characfters can also be reincarnated. You can also have an Immortal character, but they must either be the mentor/godparent of the new Princess, or have been a hermit, separate from sociality and the princess herself. Sometimes there will be other main villains other than the Darkness. But do not worry about future games for now, as each "Book" will be quite long. On the 15th birthday, the Goddess Princess goes on a quest to dicover her powers, and save the world, etc. She never starts off with her powers, but may learn them, or have certain powers triggered by certain events (at the GM[me]'s wish). Come on, bring more people to my RPG, so we may start! Bwahahaha! |

When I think of the aforementioned Princess I get an image of someone rather Lina Inverse-like fer some reason. Sounds fun though. If you round up a few more people we could do that. Or what Sliz said. |

I'd like to participate in Isis and kagato's rpgs, but I'll see what I have time for. I'm probably going to start up an rpg of my own. I just got back to school though, so I'm not sure of my daily routine yet. |

There's enough interest in Princess Dreams for me to start a sign up thread, Me-thinks... I'll start that soon, with more details. It is a Medievil-fairytale setting, so Bard is probably the one that fits best, though as a amusing feature, your bard could be very pop-based, maybe even have a background story of being part of a Boyband at one point, as before she fell into her deep sleep, she probably listened to that kind of noise... In which case you character would have more "skill points" in Dance than Sing... hee hee... OOoo or even better, maybe they are a Goth-j-rocker, and were appart of a Malice Mizer like band? That would need defect: Mistaken for a Women a lot. I'm not sure how well being a side swaper would work in this... The Darkness has probably already formed as many armies as he thinks he needs already. Also note the Darkness seeks to escape his imprisonment in the dreamworld, not rule it. His methods for this could be anything, including most likely the destruction of this World and all who live in it. But We'll have to see. Maybe the Darkness will promise to take it's followers to the real world with it... Paranoia Chronicles also had a very little bit of interest. I'm still wondering if I will make it in some way connected to Paranoia Agent or not. I'm also wondering if it should be a series of short stories, with most having completely different characters, or one long game, split into chapters of different stories. Or, Hey here's a good one, start off with a series of short story games, where only one, or two characters survive with their sanity, with each player having a character in each story, but only one surviving character left over from all these stories, and then join them altogether into one long game as those separate stories interact... Anyway, I also came up with an idea to help this thread function. Say someone joins the board at a later date, and then reads this one through from the beginning, and likes an idea that someone came up with nearer the start. To make these ideas easier to pinpoint, I've given all mine a code number, so when some refers to an older idea, they quote that to make it slightly easier to find. Also we need more people down here in this forum, like LR, and Zuki-Chan seems like the type who would be a good RPer... Maybe we should start a new Opening Party, a random RPG where people just pretend they're having a party with various characters and stuff? Should I start this? (Code- OP-1) |

It's good to see some characters are still interested in my RPG, although it will probably be more serious than comedic . . . although many funny things aren't supposed to be funny. And my character doesn't neccesarily have to sideswap, he/she would probably just have some quality-of-life issues with forever getting rid of all evil. (Probably along the lines of 'if you were sent to a perfect world where nothing dies, what would you eat?') After all, good would lose all significance if it didn't have evil to balance it out. All I'm saying. |

Ah, see the Darkness is not The Entire Universe's Darkness, or even the full darkness of the Dreamworld. It is just a dark being, a kind of powerful demon, that caused the Goddess Princess to fall into her deep sleep. This Princess was not without her own faults, and the World has other evils that come from her own greed, hatred, anger, etc. Destorying this Darkness would not be like ridding this World of ALL EVIL, it would be fighting a particular Evil Being, not natural to that World even.
