"Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!" Cried a rather small male teenager donning blood red robes with gold trimming. He was watching a full-blown acrobatic performance that was, somehow, performing in a crowded ally. Being one who was raised, lived, and operated primarily in the gloomier side of the 'world', Ami pounced on any opportunity to accompany Toad to these delightful parties he's invited to. The only drawback was Ami tends to lose track of time. "Wah! Mistress Amira! Mistress Amira!!" cried a scaly lizard-man creature donning a black cloak, "Your supposed to be accompanying master Toad!" The panic stricken lizard-man paused for a moment, "What are you doing?! Your supposed to be Amira, not Amir! You want master Toad to appear gay?!" The platinum blond astral creature spun around, clearly startled. Toad's Right Hand somehow seemed to always get Amir by surprise, "Crock, how did you get behind me so sudden?" "Please, Master Amir, turn back to feminine side so we can go see the king!" Normally this proved to be the perfect opportunity to distress the already chronically depressed Crock but Amir had plans involving the library. With a flash, Amir became Amira. "Relax, friend, it's not like Toad and I have any relationship of that sort" With that Amira sprinted off leaving a stunned Crock in her tracks, 'accidently' knocking a girl in a pink cloak over. Well, Amira had some time for mischief. |

Shana missed Ami knocking down Juliana, for her magic-enhanced senses that the dragons had trained her how to use suddenly noticed a surge of evil-sensing magic in the mostly bright and perky magic network here. She spun around to catch it, but as soon as it had appeared it was gone. Juliana's chaperone grabbed Shana by the arm and said, "Miss Shana, please don't wander off too far! It would damage Lady Juliana's rep . . . I mean, Lady Juliana would be very worried to find you lost in the city and at the mercy of thugs other unsavory characters." Turning back to the chaperone, Shana said, trying to calm him, "It's okay. I thought I sensed something evil with my second sight . . . but it's gone now. I must have imagined it." She paused and gave a meaningful look over the chaperon's shoulder. "But maybe you should be trying to comfort Juliana now." The chaperon seemed to notice Juliana for the first time, sitting on the ground, unhurt but for a few scrapes, but crying loudly. "Waah! Waah! That mean girl over there knocked me over!" A large number of people stared at the mature woman crying like a little girl. Shana turned and looked at the assailant, whose escape was being blocked by a large amount of teenage girls and boys with pink badges saying "Juliana Forever" in human writing on it. She seemed to be a young female human at first glance, but a glance with mage eyes told a different tale . . . Shana wasn't sure if "she" was a girl at all, or even a human. One thing was certain, though . . . like her, this person had a lot of magical talent. Shana weaved her way over to the person, the frantic followers parting for her as eagerly as if she were Juliana herself, and said, "Excuse me, that wasn't very nice. Please apologize for knocking over that woman." Under her breath she added. "Please. You don't have to mean it. Just do it. It doesn't cost you anything and I have to travel with her for the rest of the day. Have a little pity!" OOC: KagatoTEG, I know you said not to acknowledge the spies but someone with Shana's upbringing would probably pick up on something like that sooner or later . . . so I had her "notice" the shadow's efforts to break off the spider, but then lose it. If that goes counter to the rules of magic here, then say so and I'll change the post. |

*Juliana tried to wipe away the tears as they streamed down her face, but they wouldn't stop. First she had an empty stomach, then she must treat this "Shana" girl as if she mattered...and now getting knocked over. Worst of all, her corset had tightened during the fall and she could barely breathe. Cathching a worried glance from her manager, Juliana quickly composed herself.* Juliana: It's alright everyone...I was just worried that I may have sprained my ankle when I fell. Now where is that poor poor fashionly challenged girl? *Juliana searched the crowd and saw her walking away. Hesitating a moment, she wondered if it would be better to give chase...or to just let the troublesome brat go on her way. With a prod in her already sore stomach from her manager, Juliana gave chase.* Juliana: Oh Shane-y poo! Come here and I'll give you a treat...er...whatever you peasant girls like. *Now Shana was moving faster and talking to some disturbingly androgenous person. Not only that, but Juliana's fans kept jumping in the way...asking her to sign their clothes...scraps of paper....goats...* Juliana: *While signing livestock* Darling! I don't like to break a sweat when I'm not on stage! *Juliana realized the importance of appearance, and a sweaty songstress would just not do...speaking of fluids, neither would a cry baby. She would have to remember to control her tears in the future...and to wear a less flowing gown, because holding this one up was brcoming a pain.* Juliana: There you are Shawna...umm...Shana. *big forced smile* Who's your friend? |

Usually, under normal circumstances, Amira would flash a cute grin and dish out a forged, yet humble sounding apology, but something felt wrong. Ignoring the pop-star completely, Amira gave all her attention to the odd looking girl before her. What was so curious about this girl? "What an interesting young girl. What's your name? Where did you come from? How well toned is your magic?" Then it struck her, and a panicky expression flashed across her face for a split second. She's with... them. That stench was now far too noticeable to ignore. A now somewhat crazed smile now crossed Amira's face, a shadow from a nearby Juliana fan shrouded a quarter of her face making her appear even more crazed. The enshrouded eye almost looked like it was glowing. "Oh, so you hail form the Desert of Anger! And that chi your emitting, only one who has been around the dragons could hope to radiate such an arura!" Yes, only they could give such a distinct energy. Moving closer, Amira cupped the passably now confused/baffled girl's cheek with her hand. Her eyes narrowed, her smile now grew into a full-blown grin, "Tell me, did those dragons ever tell you about the land that rests on the other side of the desert?" Before Amira could do anything else, a scaly hand griped the back of her robes, again changing her expression to a now comical bewilderment. It was Crock. "Toad! Meet! Now!" Without another word, Crock began to plow his way through anyone who was between him and Toad. "Hey, hey, hey, HEY! You can let go of me now!" "NEVER!" "Eep!" |

Shana looked back at Juliana, who seemed to be laughing after making a completely nonsensical comment. A dragonslayer? What was that? To Shana who had been raised among dragons, they were people as complex and varied as humans. There were kind ones, arrogant ones, wise ones, stupid ones, and cruel ones. And while it was true that some dragons did like to go around raiding humans' farms for their livestock, those were relatively few in number. She didn't understand Juliana's reaction, as she hadn't understood the caravan people's and the sailors' prayers and scared looks whenever a flying dragon had passed overhead. To her the idea of a dragon going out of its way to harass humans was unthinkable. "You're not making sense," Shana said crossly, and began to run after the other girl again. But once again Juliana stopped her short. "What do you mean I'm not making sense?! You expect me to believe that you killed dragons with your own two hands and that bow? Or that your clothes were made out of the dead skin of dragons?" Juliana's eyes were starting to appear glazed and Shana sensed that this was a topic too alien or complex for her to understand. "I want to know what's really going on here!" Shana sighed. "Juliana, have you ever personally come across a town or area ravaged by a dragon?" "Well, no, of course not, my manager would never let me get so close to such a dangerous place! But everyone knows the legends and songs." Juliana obviously couldn't see the flaw in her own reasoning. Sighing, despairing that the poor girl would ever gain even a small amount of common sense, Shana ran after the other girl, the one who had been carried off by that troll. Seeing what was up with her seemed like by far the more interesting thing to do. |

(OOC: >Ahem< Sorry for the hold up. Yes, Zuki, please be our Princess, since we desparately need one. Who was going to be her Knight in Shining Armour friend? Agggh.... Anyway. The problem with noticing the Shadow Spy is not to do with how the Magic of this World works, but rather how it doesn't work by the Magic of this world, but I suppose your character might have sensed something going against the flow of the world. Anyway, the Princess's personality is your's to choose, Zuki, though they should probably be quite cheerful, and possibly happy-go-lucky, they are from a Kingdom where "Cheer" is a main export. Also quite Brave. Or maybe just not afraid of most things ["Hi mister Big Teethed Monster! How are you today?..." "AHHH! Princess Get away from that Creature!" "Why? It's so cute with it's- Hey! It Just tried to flame me! Hmmph! I'll teach it a lesson!" ".... Why me..."]. But really, it is up to you. And I've looked back. >ahem< Calling Stellevia to be the Knight Kid in Shining armour, what not.) The King and Queen of the Kingdom of Joy and Courage were getting quite worried. They Darling Daughter was no where to be found. She needed to present herself to all the important guests before they sat down to eat. Queen Charity looked with worry at her husband. "Well maybe she's with that Pop Singer girl..." "Nooope... I see her making for the stage now, with just her Manger, and a load of fans..." "... Just?" "... I'm sure if our little girl was with them, we would notice her..." "... Alright... Maybe that Amir Slash a found her, and convinced her to start mischief with her slash him again?" "Nope, I see Crock carrying .... her I think, over to us now..." "Maybe that Nice Knight lad is playing wither her somewhere more quiet?" "...... Pardon?" "... I didn't mean it like that Dominic..." "... Right, ummm but where? The Entire Castle, no, the Entire Kingdom is bursting with joyfull party goers!" "umm I'm sure they are somewhere..." (Any idea if Stellevia will still be playing, or do we need a new knight? Should I PM them? Now I remember the problem. It wasn't so much my Writer's block or anything, but more a case of missing cast....) |
