i just dont see how the show could realistically end any other way. As much as i love Ryo, my choice for her being the one is actually entirely objective.
Everything that happens on the show is just set up around her and tenchi meeting and the awkward chemistry they share with one another. she's the lead female
role, shes the first mention in everything. if u wanted to be traditional and name the hero and heroin of the show; it would be tenchi and ryo.
most of the tender moments of the show are shared with her and tenchi too. even if you dont like ryo, you gota admit they are meant for each other.
the show is just written that way...well before OVA3 came along and fuct everything up, that is.

that said, if the show did in fact end with someone else wedding tenchi or whatever. Ryoko's position in the ending would still have to finish strong. her's is a tragic story
and i know I and others are just crying out to see her story end happily.

I agree, it is definitely Ryoko. You only need to watch one episode of this show to realize that. I could prove it with the first episode of all three series and every movie but that would be overkill. I never really cared for Ayeka that much anyway, she's always so snooty and proper. He definitely needs Ryoko to balance him out.

Ryoko is a coward at least half the time. When Washu pulled Mihoshi's ship out of subspace, Ryoko was ready to flee till Washu disposed of the creature once and for all. Ryoko also was afraid of Misaki and Airi.

Ryoko is clearly not the best girl for Tenchi by a long shot. They are near totally, if not completely opposite of 1 another, and despite popular romantic notion, opposites do not attract each other in a relationship. Opposites repel each other. Relationships are much more complex then a set of magnets or batteries. Science and Psychology will back me up on this. I'm not saying that a little conflict of opinion will doom a relationship, but Tenchi and Ryoko are far too opposite of 1 another to have a relationship beyond that of friendship. Most relationships built on the fallacy of opposites attract, end badly, sometimes with murder involved.

Its like trying to pair a bible-thumping Christian conservative together with a religion hating Atheist. That relationship isn't going anywhere. Hell, it wouldn't even make it to a first date. Or to give it a little humor, as Chris Rock said "If your a crackhead, then your woman got to be a crackhead too, or the shit won't work." 1 of you can't be off to church while the other is off smoking some crack.

Ryoko is lazy and an alcoholic, while Tenchi is a hard worker, and clearly not an alcoholic. Tenchi is modest, where as Ryoko wouldn't know modesty if it slapped her in the face. Ryoko is constantly putting Tenchi in life threatening danger, while he is constantly having to bail her out of trouble. Ryoko is prone to violence, while Tenchi would prefer no violence.

The only reason Ryoko "loves" Tenchi is because she simply hasn't been presented with a good alternative. Because she was trapped for 700 years, and spent her last years in the cave watching Tenchi, the effect is something akin to Stockholm syndrome. I don't know, nor could find a better word for it. But with Tenchi being her only source of comfort for over a decade and a half, that left a deep imprint on her. So once she was free, rather then take off, she chose to stick around because Tenchi was the only thing she really knew at that point.

a lot of ur reasons seem to be based on your dislike for the character, which as ive said before doesn't have anything to do with the constructs of the show which - as u don't seem to realize - is written primarily as a lighthearted/adventure comedy. your perfect political coupling will never work for tenchi muyo.

also ur examples of ryokos "cowardice" are laughable. u just mentioned the exact same instance again. is that all youve got? again, not valid enough to even accuse her of it.
and these other two people lol? how long were they on the screen for? 4 mins in total for one ep lol? also u need to learn the difference between comedic routine and seriousness.
when sasamis mum is squeezing ryokos face and throwing her around ect....its a joke, its merely for comedic value. ryoko is obviously far stronger than her and in a proper fight, would sever that stupid queens head right from her body. you see the difference? i mean come on it happens in all sorts of different animes.
