I never have been fond of my birthday. I mean...what's the point? It's not MINE really. I share it with a twin....and my birthday is not about ME...it's about my FATHER.

And so yet another year goes by with a crappy birthday.

My father is a controlling person. He likes to make things about HIM....and then make himself seem like it's all for GOOD....instead of making himself good. Originally, I heard he actually wanted to drag my brother and I to an old folks home to hand them balloons. I mean....I would not mind doing that any other time of the year (I enjoy volenteer work) But he wanted to flaunt his damned kids. He only saws kind things about us when it makes HIM look good.

So basically, today my boyfriend and I were going to have dinner with my parents. Typically birthdayish thing yes? But...as soon as our food gets to us....-_-' THings go terribly wrong.

I should have known my birthday was going too well. -_-'

First....my father and I started an argument over my classes. I have decided not to take 4th year German, because it is the EXACT same class as 3rd, and in my honest opinion, I could use my credits for something that would FURTHER my education. -_-' My mother eventually stopped the fight, but I was furious because my father thinks college requirement is 4 years instead of what all of the educators at my school say, which is 2. As if a college drop out knows the CURRENT system. Controlling jerk.

Well...when we got our food...-_-' They got some little things wrong. We all really let it go...until the place started getting busier. Now my father HATES crowds....so he began to get all pissed because now many how many times he tried to wave the waitress over for the bill, she never came. He was about to start a huge argument VERY soon...so my boyfriend and I left. -_-'

I spent an evening watching Monty Python with my twin and boyfriend...and eventually it was time for him to leave. Of course my father has to be a jerk as I'm walking him out. He insists he wishes to talk to him alone, and I refuse to let him (by this time my father has been drinking). He wanted by my boyfriend, brother, and my self to play trumpet, trombone, and Saxophone for him. This of course, pissed me off further...because I don't think I should have to be some sort of cabaret musician to play whenever my father wishes if, I'm sorry, I don't want music to become USED.

I walk my boyfriend out, and talked to him about it, because I was pretty upset. I walk in 20 minutes later after we finished our conversation, and my father starts to talk to me. Now remember I'm pissed because he wants to use people...

He basically tries to play 'hero'. "Well I was on the phone with his mother....who was surprised he wasn't home yet...I SAVED THE DAY." Like he thought I was whoring it up outside or something. Ummm....EWWW. That is the complete opposite of my personality. That's freaking DISGUSTING. I tell him I don't want to talk to him...and he gets nasty. He only wanted to deal with faaaammmillyy.....he LET him come with....HE payed. (Which...um....my boyfriend is a gentleman, and has payed one EVERY date we've ever been on. My father has NO RIGHT to complain. He INSISTED.) And apparently I'm going to be kicked out onto the streets when I'm 18.

So I basically told him I didn't want to deal with him, and he only does things for himself. I thanked him for a crappy birthday too.

And then later, as the jerk went out to most LIKELY get drunk with him buddies...he's all 'ooohh...happy birthday hunny..."

>_<

I mean...what....am I some terrible person?

Have I no RIGHT to be angry? Am I just worthless?

I get straight A's. I work hard. I've never drank, done drugs, or any of that nasty teenage crap. I'm a DAMNED good daughter.

Is it so hard for just...one...tiny....day?

Is it?

Oh my god, I'm so sorry I missed this... @_@

I wish I could say I knew how you felt (for empathy purposes), but I don't. These fights make my dad look like a saint; hard as it is, they do. I'm so very sorry you have to deal with this... I hope you can take comfort in the fact that we're here for you.

Thanks you guys.

I had almost forgotten about this. ^_^'

I was actually feeling a little bad about posting. I figured I might have whined a bit to much.

I'm glad that is not the case.

The situation hasn't improved...but I least I'll be off to college in a year.

...I can look forward to that.

Thanks for the support.

Nah, super. You need to get these things out. It's not good to bottle them up otherwise things can turn nasty.
I've had the drunken family member problem, but this person never acted controlling or summat like your dad.

It was your B-Day! He should'nt have ruined it for you. Some people just like to make people feel small to make themselves feel better, which is sad.
I am so sorry super.

all that 'nasty teenage crap' is stuff you could've looked back on one day and had a good laugh.

your dad however sounds like he shouldn't be drinking.

I dunno...he's a kind of bitter person. Drinking makes him feel 'better'. Then he's just stupid. He doesn't like me very much.

My mother thinks he's bipolar.

Which would make sence. His moods change in a snap, and then there's this whole

"Your the worst daughter ever you stupis B****"
and then all of the sudden
"Oh...your my favorite daughter, your my eldest...I love you!"

I am a TWIN, and I am the ONLY daughter. -_-''

I'm kind of like, whatever. Let him do what he wants. When I graduate, I never have to see him again.

I'll come over with a frying pan and whack him on the head for 'ya!
We'll all have a good laugh for hitting a drunk guy with a frying pan is hilarious!

Well, technically your bday is attributed to his successful sperm!!

Maybe TMI but still worth considering.

He may have ruined your bday. Or even childhood for that matter, but is that worth hating him over?

You can always forgive, you can always CHOOSE to forget ;).

Happy bday by the way. I'm sure everyone here will throw you an awesome forum based party/chat room!

ps doesn't ranting feel good? Just knowing someone out there, for the most part, will probably say to themself, "wtf"
it'a make a me smile.

Ha ha ha.

It funny to remember my seventeeth birthday, seeing as my eighteenth has just passed.

He's really not gotten any better, and I don't really hate him. I just dislike him with a firey passion.

...*sigh*

Thanks for the support though!
