Yeah another nice thing is, bkev it makes you login, i dunno about you guys, but i think its time we stopped letting guests post on the forums. one nice feature about SMF.

Simple Machines Forum is one that I've used for a long time, since the days when it was yabbse even. It has a lot of the good features of IPB, but it's easier to set up and use IMO. SMF is also supplied for free although they do give extra perks to what they call "charter members" which contribute to the SMF organization voluntarily. SMF used to be a little buggy, but recently the number of updates has lessened a great deal, so I think that they're close to having a mature product like IPB and vBulletin. Customizing SMF isn't any easier than phpBB or IPB, so I'll warn you about that, but it's certainly do-able.

I guess the only real issue left then, is the webhost.

What is the name of the company we're currently using? Is it the same one with all the hardware issues that have plagued us recently? Does anyone have a suggestion for another?

That's one reason I liked IPB; they host the site and are fairly reasonable. I think we should discuss host stability and then we can use SMF.

To be honest, I've long felt that Neelick should host the site himself (meaning that he chose the hosting company...and he can (perhaps) solicite contributions from members), but I guess that's not an option.
