This board does use phpBB. The forums here were set up by Neelick to copy over what was left of our old ezboard, but it left the contested lower forums which were due to removal anyway and changed the structure of the board somewhat. henheart is run by and is a straight copy of everything that's left from the old board.

Conversion can be done using a tool such as: <a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/ezboard-conv">ezConvert</a>

phpBB is free to use but you do need a server which allows you to use php and MYSQL to host it on. It's a pretty stable easy to use board, with the advantage of being extremely customisable as it's open source. However on the downside by default the admin interface is very clumsy, and just not very easy to use. If you want to be able to edit and code things yourself though it's defiantly the way to go.

If you don't and you don't have a server you might what to consider something like: http://invisionfree.com/ they host for you for free using IPB but there are some adverts. IPB is a very nice system, with a great admin interface. Because you're not hosting it you can’t customise the code of course, but if you're used to exboard this is normal anyway ^^ The problem here is getting things from ezboard is a lot more tricky. I don't know of any ezboard to IPB converts, although you could convert from ezboard to phpBB and then from phpBB to IPB... Not so straight forward though.

Personally for my own forums I use IPB (although I host it myself, which I don’t think you can do anymore, they stopped having a completely free to download version. Unfortunately I can’t offer the version got when they still did to anyone, so don’t PM me if you want it or anything ). Although whatever system you use will take a while to get used to and customise as you want it.

I don't vouch for the accuracy of what you'll find there, however, given what ezboard/yuku itself is saying/doing...I think you'll find most, if not all of the posts at least plausible.

Hi. Yes this current board is a phpbbs board. After the Deboccle at Ezboard, I had to get off there somehow.

If you're looking to get off ezboard (Which I would if at all possible) because they're completely unreliable. I'd actually recommend Invisionfree board. They have a really good system. This board is PHP bbs.

There are advantages to both PHP bbs. The nice thing about a phpbbs if you have complete control over your data. If something bad happens, you can make your own backups and restore from those backups. You can also fish around for the best price. And no advetistments.

With invisonfree, you don't have to worry about maintaining your own data. And with css knowledge you can make a very attracitve board hosted for free.

No matter what you do get off of ezboard. They're devious and sneaky. Not to mention i'm pretty sure one day you're going to wake up and your entire board's been ported over to Yuku even though you specified that you didn't want it to be.
