Petition for a new subforum

Hi Guys, sorry I didn't see this post earlier.

If you guys agree that a sub forum would be good for this I'd be happy to set it up.

Also maybe it is time to retire some unused subforums.

I'd like to hear people's ideas.

It would be a nice subforum for Saint Knights Tale, also retire all the subforums that get absolutely no traffic, it would be less clutter, I think the spotlight anime should go to some of the anime associated with the Tenchi-Multiverse, like Dual, El Hazard, Photon, etc

I like how Jibril set it up, although maybe I didn't read this in that post but alot of these could be merged under one subforum, instead of deleting all of them (although some of these need the boot badly)

Otherwise I like it, I think if were gonna overhaul it, Neelick should update the look to the board aswell, to fit the direction

I agree with Jibril. A Seikishi subforum is a must. And a fanart section would be nice.

Also there should be a "All hail Sasami" subforum, for obvious reasons.

I think Jibril's plan for tidying up the forum is quite good ^_^. It condenses everything without taking out the essentials, and adds in an SKT forum (which is going to be picking up more and more popularity over the course of 2010, aside from being an excellent OVA). I also like Tensami's idea for a fanart section, since we post an awful lot of fan and promo art here in our picture threads, maybe we could fit in a "gallery" subforum? I must say, I love our forum design from a color palette standpoint, but compared to the other default options, it could use a little tweaking to look a tad more modern(maybe rounded corners or a slight modification of the of the green trim color? I won't pretend to know anything about web design here xD). I still think the our banners are wonderful, and enjoy that the "new topic" and "add reply" buttons have Tenchi related pictures as well ^_^.

Edit: Although I'm not all that superstitious, I'm at 1111 posts! Make a wish

A lot of newer forums use a more standard, modern looking feel with Blue names and the like (Since I'm not forum savy I'm not sure what type of forum type this is called) anyway, thats the design I would like to see, I mean don't get me wrong I love it now, but I think if were gonna update the forum arrangement, might as well tweak the forum itself right?, We could keep banners, or better yet add new ones, either way I like the way Jibril has it arranged (just no worship specific forums we can add those threads later

)

I've retired topics in the past. There were a lot of people who didn't want those changes.

I wonder if there are any objectsions to what is proposed above. So far the feedback seems postive.

Jibril's plan is absolutely genius on the anime front, IMO. As stated earlier, it condenses everything without actually taking anything out. All the Genre Specific and Nothing but Anime subforums combined have 122 topics, which is barely over 1/4 of what General Tenchi has, and 670 total posts, not even 1/20 General Tenchi's size! So yeah, this condensation is especially fitting for that reason, plus it doesn't really give off the vibe of spotlighting specific other anime to be talked about when that doesn't even work here anyway. No need to delete any topics or accounts, though, you never know when somebody could decide to come back.

Fan-stuff-wise, I'd say keep Tenchi Survivor as is, of course, but the former Tenchi Survivor games haven't even been reposted, so why Former Survivors is here when a link to the old forum can just be posted in the TS thread with most of those I have no idea, so good on that as well. Games Survivor seemed to have been a pretty cool idea but died out before I even first came here, so I'd probably scrap it or merge it with Non Tenchi Role Playing, but I dunno. I would rather merge Want to Affiliate with Us into Post Your Site, though yes, Members' Fanfics should be changed to incorporate fanart as well. And no, I wouldn't move any fanfics into General Tenchi because creativity should be rewarded while fics could easily get lost in the shuffle of General Tenchi.
