Some good ideas. I rather like the idea of different forums for each show in the TM multiverse, and I feel that a lot of the different forums dedicated to anime not related to Tenchi are unnecassary since they never seem to be used.

Generally I agree with Jibril's proposal, however a number of the "red" subforums do not have a clear fate because there is no designated destination for their orphaned posts.

-Frequently Asked Questions (4 updated threads since 2001, vast majority from 2001 and not applicable to current site but old one. Redundant with "Questions For Neelick")

-The Tenchiboard Hall of Fame (last post 2008, no real point)

-Tenchiboard Community Support Forum (last post 2008)

-Tenchi Merchandise (6 updated threads in 2009, kinda redundant)

-The Perfect Girl for Tenchi is... (4 updated threads in 2009, redundant)

-All Things Japanese (7 posts in 2009)

While I would be in favor of consolidation or reorganization, deletion of topics/subforums is unacceptable.

FAQ would have to go in Tenchiboard Essentials

Hall of Fame could go in Essentials or Welcoming maybe?

The Community Support forum would go back in Kaleidoscope Room where it originally came from.

Tenchi Merchandise and Perfect Girl forums would have to go into General Tenchi.

All Things Japanese would have to go into All Other Anime maybe.

I generally agree with mjhennesy on where to put the orphaned threads except for the Fate of the Tenchiboard Hall of Fame threads. MJHennesy's suggestions are in green.

Just look in the 5-6 threads, dominated by nonsensical ezcode and the last big thread bkev had to spambust something awful in there and what there is is just chatter. I tried to read much of it and have yet to come away with an idea who, if anyone, is a HoF member here. Kaleidoscope room at best.

Jib's idea looks pretty good. Lots of stuff that haven't seen any posts for years. If no one's using them anyway, why not condense it down?

I suggest a less is more approach. I think you'll get better traffic with as few subforums as possible.

Thanks for your input on this guys. I'm looking at the best wayt to do this. MJH is right about there beign a lot of reduntant or obsoltete topics.

The FAQ for example is something I've been thinking about for a while now. It saved me a lot of time in the past answering the same questions over and over again. Like why there's an OAV and Tenchi Universe. That kind of thing. I've been working on a new version of the main tenchi site which has a FAQ session so I had planned to retire the FAQ topic at that time.

I prob won't make any changes right away without posting something in here about I'd be thinking about. Either way, I don't favor deletion. I favor consolidation. Unless something is compeltey useless.

Sorry I've been neglecting this. I've got a project for work that I've been addressing. I hope to get back to this as soon as I'm done with that. I've got a word documen on my desktop atm with what I had so far..

I think archiving the old forumns and consolidating to fewer, yet more active ones is a good idea. most folks here have such diverse interests it would be impossible to compartmentalise them all on one site. plus, it's more fun to just go off topic.

Well the busier ones woudn't change, just the ones which don't receive a lot of activity. Some topics havnen't had a post in literally years.

Why can't we just delete some of them? Some of them haven't seen activity since 05 or 06! If you can't find the time then give someone the power to make the edits for you.
