It wasn't so much the girl, but what the combination of that and the cross-scarred guy. Everyone I know has also been saying it was a huge shock to them.

Anyways, just to talk about a few of the animes you mentioned:

Full Metal Panic - Decent series, though I can't stand mecha...I'm still working on the original series anyways.

Last Exile - Great series until the end (just check out my sig). I was a huge Dio fan, and was extremely dissapointed by how the ending treated him.

Naruto - Very good series, especially the manga. But if you like Naruto, you might as well watch One Piece, since One Piece is about a 100 times better.

Shingetsutan Tsukihime - It's....strange, so far. I dunno. It might get better later.

Some of the other animes coming out right now...Kimi ga Nozomu Eien...PLANTETES...Peacemaker Kurogane...they're decent, but I have yet to really be impressed that much. FMA is the only one that has stood out for me.

Anyways, I'm watching One Piece right now...which is just about the best anime I've seen since a long, long time. Seriously, it actually made it onto my top ten list, a list that hasn't been changed in over a year. Great stuff.

Jaganzoku - Clan of the Evil Eye

Yeah it seems like pretty much every Alchemist theyÂ’ve met so far is a psycho lol.

As for other anime I'm currently watchin

I've started watching Scrapped Princess. I really like it so far. I've seen up to Ep14

Gunslinger Girl is very interesting. I've only seen the first episode but it was enough to get my attention. Just watched Ep 8. Pretty good episode man still mighty dark too. I like that though.

The characters are developing nicely. I've just watched the first episode (FMA) and I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to get the next episode but my connection is a bit dodgy at the moment so I guess it will take a while >_< I really liked the first few mins, it really set the seen and leaves you wanting to know more.

I have also seen the first two episodes of FMP2 and I thought it was great, I've only seen the beginning of FMP but the second series seems to be a totally different continuity, much funnier, great stuff.

And lastly one piece. I saw the first episode of that at the anime society a few weeks ago, it seemed pretty zany and it took a while for me to get used to the animation but by the end I was really getting into it, I like the whole rubber thing, it was a cool idea ^_^

~ Links ~
[ My Final Fantasy Site | Tenchi Muyo! Fullmetal Alchemist is good stuff ~.^ I think it's the best anime this season by far. Just wait until you get to Ep 3 and then "flash back" to when Al and Ed were kids.

One Piece is fairly zany at first, but really once Luffy gets his crew together (Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji), the series takes on a more 'adventurous' type of attitude. It's tons of fun.

Jaganzoku - Clan of the Evil Eye

Hmm, this is a little late, but whatever.

Naruto isn't all that similar to One Piece if I've been properly informed, so I'm not sure I'm going to jump right into One Piece beacuse I'm a Naturo fan. I dunno, I'm watching enough as it is, maybe I'll get One Piece later though.

As for Last Exile, I thought the ending was just fine. Sure Dio isn't treated all that well but neither is our pal Alex, or any member of the guild for that matter. Whatever, endings are endings and people like unhappy things. I thought the ending was cool anyway. Btw, Last Exile was rated number one anime by the voters at animenfo.com, so I guess other people liked it too.

FMA is still ok, after these first 11 episodes I'm still not seeing any huge dramatic twists. After the flashback they keep on doing what they've been doing for the past 7 episodes but that's to be expected.

Fullmetal Panic 2. Here's a shock, no mechas, at all. They don't even mention them. It's basically about Sousuke's antics while attending Chidori's highschool. Saying that, you don't have to worry about there being mechas if you don't particularly like them, because there are none.
The Grand Pooj, signing off...

Oops, forgot one thing.

Peacemaker Kurogane. I dunno, I really don't like it. Sure it's got engrish like crazy in the closing, what's there not to like. I just don't like it too much when there's this character to which they give no indication of gender even though the character design gives no hints at all. At first I just though that I was hearing the manliest sounding girl ever, but then, about 7 episodes in they finally tell everyone that he's a guy and blah blah. Gee, I love it when the audience is intentionally confused. It's Lain all over again.

That and the series is kinda boring... Didn't like it at all...
The Grand Pooj, signing off...

Well, in Last Exile, Alex had people who REMEMBERED him :/ Dio didn't even get that. Broke my heart, that ending did.

FMP is a decent COMEDY, but of the group of anime being released I still fully believe FMA has the best all around plot combination with action and splashes of comedy. A show can't survive on comedy alone and still be great, but the same isn't true for drama/action.

Jaganzoku - Clan of the Evil Eye

Full Metal Alchemist is O.K. Of course alot could take place yet since the series is only at episode 14. I like how the series has a very serious tone to it and deals with some serious issues. I just feel that "right now" the characters are not well developed and are pretty dull. The main characters are decent, but the secondary characters are horrible in that regard. And that big empty metal case armor kid is kind of irratating. You would think that he would be capable of a little bit more and he looks soooo stupid. Also, I think the series is jumping way to fast. FMA does get alot of points for being very original and unique though.

I really like the secondary characters, though right now it appears that the only long-standing secondary characters are the other State Alchemists. I particularly loved episode 13, where we got to see Mustang's goofy side.

FMA is lovelly. I really enjoy it. It has the makings of something that might sneak into my top ten list, something that has not been accomplished since One Piece about two months ago and Haibane Renmei about one year ago.

Jaganzoku - Clan of the Evil Eye

This series has come lights years since the last time someone posted in this thread. I must say that I didn't have the "faith" that some others had that this series was going to turn into something special, but it has. Its really a great show with alot of interesting twists and turns. I can't say that I have saif "I saw that coming" very often with FMA. The show doesn't follow the "normal" anime rules or concept that you can see coming from a mile away. I think this is what make FMA a great show. I just would like to see some more charcter development in the show. As for the secondary/3rd string characters in the show - I will stand by my opinion that they are plain and not very interesting, but Erick and Al make up for it.

Well, Fullmetal Alchemist is over!

Whew, what an awesome ride it has been. It really picked up steam early on and just never looked back. So many crazy things happened in the last few episodes, but somehow BONES was able to wrap up just about everything (and leave some open for the movie in 2005).

All in all very satisfying and enjoyable. I highly recomend it.

Jaganzoku - Clan of the Evil Eye

It was a better then decent anime and well worth watching every week. It doesn't make my top ten, but it probably makes my top 20 now. I just thought that the characters weren't all that well developed or didn't give me a reason to care. I just thought the whole thing was a "little" plain for the type of anime it was.

I've finally managed to get the last episode! All I can say is wow, I'm still not sure what I think of the end, but it defiantly wasn't what I was expecting. It fitted very well with the rest of the series, and finished it off nicely.

The series has been great, itÂ’s moved a long at a fast pace the whole time, never a dull moment ^_^ Lots excellent plot twists, and I loved how the whole idea of how alchemy worked. This anime has certainly made it to my top three, and maybe even the number one spot, but I need to let it sink in I think, I keep on thinking there will be more >_< I am defiantly looking forward to the movie.

All in all, great stuff.

~ Links ~
[ Dreams of Twilight | Tenchi Board ]
