They really screwed up the ending...I wish they had another 10 or so episodes where they could've ended it the in such a way as to make this a "classic" but no.... <p></p><i></i>

I agree with Nate, I liked the ending, remember there is still the movie to come if you want more closure, but I think the ending fitted with the rest of the series. Ok so maybe the ending itself wasn't so bad but there were many questions left unanswered IMO. Spoilers<br><br>It's a great show, I finished watching it last week and I didn't really like the ending, the show its self had a great story and great characters but in the end it was all pointless, as Linden said. Al got his body back, with no memories and Ed didn't get anything apart from getting shipped over to the other world.. Bleh. I'm glad that there's a movie, I hope it has Ed making it back to his own world and everyone is happy, but that won't happen in this anime. It was a serious show. Sometimes it just doesn't work out pretty...I for one enjoyed how so much more serious it was over the manga, which is basically your run-of-the-mill shounen action series with splashes of comedy.<br><br>I honestly don't know what people were expecting from the ending. It made sense and wrapped up the current conflict. Any loose ends, left for you to ponder, are not absolute to this and there's always that "look towards" the future, an open-ended style that is quite common with Japanese fiction.
